Ballistic parachutes - RVs by
Ric
I did a search on ballistic parachutes and RVs and found some interesting
posts.
It was mentioned that BRS is looking into designing a Ballistic Chute for
some of the RV range of homebuilts. Has anyone heard of any developments?

Glass Goose support? by
George W. Shrub
For all practical purposes it looks like Kwikit has stopped production. And
the 2 Yahoo GG groups are dead in the water :). Is there any active builders
support groups left?

Do you know a PULSAR Builder named Dan Billings?? by
firstflight
I saw a picture on Barnstomers.com of a rectangular vent system in a Pulsar
XP built by Dan Billings - anyone know how to reach him to find out where he
got them?
This seems like a awesome alternative to the eyeball vent option for a
Pulsar.
Thanks in advance for any info you would have on him.

One coat paint for aluminum? by
[email protected]
Howdy,
I'm building a Savannah, and I want to keep the weight down. I'm only
planning to paint some odd shapes on the plane and leave the rest bare
aluminum. Since the plane is a simple, crude little creature, I can't see
spending a bunch of time and money on these paint accents.
So my question...

Metalworking Question for Bruce Frank or anyone else with expertise by
David H. Uhrbrock
After a rough landing, I minimally bent my experimental's tailwheel spring
and need to have it straightened. It is a piece of round solid ferrous
steel, 39" long, 1.25" in greatest diameter as it enters the fuselage
midway along its length and tapers to about 0.75" at each end. Alloy
composition...

Epoxy Bonding to Aluminum and Magnesium by
Ryan Young
I'm working on a Hummel Aviation Ultracruiser Plus. The way the
engine mounts is quite different from the mounts on most VW powered
homebuilts. The Conventional Wisdom bolts the thing to the firewall
using the clucth end bellhousing, often with an accessory case in
between.
The Ultracruiser Plus...

Product to remove oil stains from concrete for painting? by
Scott
I'm looking to find some product that can remove oil stains from
concrete so that paint will stick. My shop used to be used by a car
mechanic and now that I build airplanes in it, I'd like to paint the
floor a very light gray or off-white. I don't think that just using
"Gunk" will remove it...

Any one know where, or if, or how to refinish the front panels on a

Over on alt.binaries.pictures.aviation someone has posted pictures of a
stealth homebuilt. It is difficult to see, but you can make out the tires
and the shadow.

Could it be???? by
Rich S.
Would this BD-5 be associated with a certain scrivener known to all here?
http://www.acf.clara.net/scale/scale-pics-2/low-wing/bede-DB5A/bede.html
It seems to have only a left wing and the registration number (letters)
strike a chord.
Naw, couldn't be.

EFIS BMA Sport G3 v GRT Horizon I by
alexy
These two units seem to be similar in price point, functionality, and
size. Has anyone done or seen a comprehensive comparison of features,
or more importantly (and less likely) an engineering evaluation of the
two or a comparison of usability based on actual experience?

Decalin instead of TCP? by
Bob Fry
With the demise of 80/87 avgas, I bought a gallon of TCP and will
start adding that to the 100LL that I must now buy.
However, scouting around the internet I found something that claims to
be similar in function but safer: decalin. Here's a blurb from
Aircraft Spruce. My questions are, has...
