CV-17 Bunker Hill retirement? by
DDAY
I was looking through Stefan Terzibaschitsch's book Aircraft Carriers of the
US Navy and I see that CV-17 Bunker Hill was withdrawn from service in 1947
and essentially stayed in mothballs until 1966. She was used as an immobile
electronics research ship during that time.
Does anybody know why...

PHOTOS: McGuire JB Air Show May 12, 2012

me were all static. I left right after the...

Why is USS George Washington still in port at Yokosuka?! by
J[_2_]
This ignorant civilian would like to know why the George Washington is
still in port in Yokosuka given the crisis in Japan. Given that they
had to rush the Ronald Reagan to Japan when the George Washington was
there, why didn't they put the latter out to sea to help out or at
least get it away from...

Some good stuff today. A pair of FA-18's, an Atlas B744, Delta Skyteam

shame we had a haze all afternoon. But you take what you get. Plus
several biz jets.
The FA-18's did a fly over for the...

Vietnam Combat Story by Dick Rutan
this from an AF pilot who was a Misty 100 driver based at Phu Cat with
Rutan.
The only USAF General Officer to die during the Vietnam conflict did
so not thirty feet from my cockpit. It was an absolutely horrific
experience.
