Capt. Wes B. Aircraft Reviews by
Capt. Wes B.
Having flown a variety of aircraft over the years, I never pass up the opportunity to try a new plane out; regardless if it is a heavy jet, or a small two seat general aviation aircraft.
The Liberty XL-2 is not exactly the newest aircraft around, but is still a bit of a rare sight. I was invited...

Aircraft ID? canard biz plane by
Ron Hardin
What might a business-sized aircraft have been, that had both a
canard stabilizer up front and a regular stabilizer in the back,
twin engine, very high pitched (frequency) props, quite fast, that
went over.
I think it was smaller than what I remember as a Beech starship.

Toriafly
Below please find a call to all pilots to help make a difference during Women Of Aviation Week.
Your heart is pounding and palms are damp, all from a mix of nervousness and excitement. The four seat aircraft rolls upon the runway and quickly gained speed. Before you know it, you are soaring with...

747 weight distribution by
Robin
Hello, this is an odd question of curiosity from an amateur: Two days
ago I was flying from Dulles to LHR on a United 747-400. The aircraft
taxied to the end of the runway, then the pilot announced there was a
problem with the weight distribution on the aircraft wings, and we
would have to move...

economy without investment by

Hiya all.
everyone should read the following article
XAUUSD has traded in a fairly
tight range all week – except for a slid last night to around 1634.34
EUR/USD remained above the significant 1.30 figure and currently trades
around its 100-day SMA which is around 1.3130.

Taxi calculator? (propeller type and speed, aircraft weight, taxi speed) by
John Doe[_4_]
Is there such a calculation/formula? How can you tell what
propeller to use, how fast it should rotate, and how much weight
it can push along the ground?
Specifically... I would like to tell what sort and size of
propeller rotating at what speed, in calm air to push 100 or 200
pounds on smooth...

Military and Civil Aviation Passive Radar Market: 2013 - 2023 by
James Wilkinson
Passive radar is different from traditional forms of radar in that it does not emit any electromagnetic radiation. Instead, it relies on reflections from other electromagnetic signals in the atmosphere in order to provide a radar picture. Passive radar provides a number of distinct advantages that...

Maintenance Manuals by
RST Engineering
While I'm on a rant, there is a sense in this ng that the manufacturer's
maintenance manual must be in the area where an annual or 100 hour is
performed. I can find no such requirement in part 43 or part 65.
Part 43 says that the maintenance manual procedures must be followed. Part
65 says that...

Are sectional paths correct across "long" distances? by
vincent p. norris
No. Straight lines on Lambert Conformal maps are not great circles.
It's my understanding that the Lambert Conformal is better than any
other flat surface at representing the curved surface of the earth in
such a way that a straight line on the chart comes very close to being
a Great...

Which airliners have flown supersonic? by
Bruce W
When I was a child, around 1961, I remember airliners making sonic
booms when they flew over, and the windows on our house would rattle.
Of course this is illegal today.
What I can't figure out is what types of airline airplanes flew
supersonic. The Boeing 707 cannot fly supersonic.
Does anyone...

Finally following my dreams by
Rudy26
Hi all,
I'm new to this forum, and hope I'm in the right place to ask these questions.
At 45, I've finally decided to follow my lifelong dream of flying. I guess my first concern is, am I too old. I don't want to be a airline pilot, but cessnas or flying instructor would be nice, so long as I...

Engine on Global Flyer by
Brent
They're saying the Global Flyer's jet engine burns 102 pounds of fuel an
hour. If that kind of fuel weighs in at 6 pounds per gallon, that's
about 17 gallons an hour, or roughly double what I burn in the little
Cherokees I fly. Then again, the jet propelled the Flyer about 2 times
as fast with a...
