OSH '07 accommodations dilemna by
bdl
Ok, so one of my partners reserves 2 dorm rooms (no A/C this year)
every year for Tuesday - Thursday. This year, however, there are only
3 of us that can make it.
So my dilemna:
1. Take the plane up and camp next to the plane while they take the
remaining dorm room, and then open up the other...

My first freezing rain encounter by
[email protected]
The weather was perfect for flying yesterday morning, sunny, mostly
blue sky with about 12000' ceiling and little wind (unlike the day
before when we canceled our flying plan due to 13G24 wind). As usual,
we checked weather sites, TAF/weather map etc before heading to the
airport. Bad weather is...

Rec.Aviation NorthEast Mini Fly-in by
[email protected]
The weather was perfect for the Rec.Aviation Northeast Mini Fly-in
this morning. Rick and I left KPOU at 10:40am and landed at Skyacres
44N just before 11:00am. Several planes were leaving so we were able
to tie down just outside of the Windsock Cafe. I went inside the
restaurant and immediately...

Autopilots and coupled approaches by
BDS
I have a KFC-200 autopilot in the aircraft I fly and I have always been able
to fly a better approach by hand than the autopilot does. Just the other
day while out doing practice approaches to a runway with a 12 kt crosswind
on the surface and a pretty good wind gradient and turbulence from the...

The REAL Question Regarding 9/11 is.... by

.....whether or not the planes took off from a conveyor or not, whether
Belfort Instruments had anything to do with the remote RC transmitter that
was used to fly them, and whether Elvis was involved.

Turbo Cirrus by
BDS
Just read the article on the Turbo Cirrus in the latest Flying magazine.
What a beautiful aircraft - 194 kts at 12,000 feet in a fixed-gear single at
17.5 gph fuel consumption isn't bad!
I want one!

Engine problem - Seneca II by
BDS
We've been having a problem with the engines on our Seneca II for awhile now
and I wonder if anyone else has any experience with it. The engines are
TSIO-360s and if we lean at cruise with about 75% power (typically around
32-in MP) or less to anything over about 1400 EGT (which is still ROP),...

Husky vs J3 by
BDS[_2_]
I am going to be transitioning from a J3 to a Husky A1-C. I have quite a
bit of complex experience but it is all in tricycle gear aircraft - the J3
is the only taildragger I've flown to date. Anyone out there with Husky
time want to comment on what to expect?

Hilarious ANN article by
BeaglePig
I actually LIKE reading ANN.... they actually DO get most aviation news
out before anyone else, you just have to watch them sometimes.
I laughed out loud for 5 min straight after reading the first paragraph
of Jon Thornburgh's article... Them's some funny planes those sport
pilots will be flying...

Is This Why by
Bear Bottoms[_4_]
This happened to me.
I was hauling a bunch of stuff, one kilo per package. I was within
weight-and-balance. But one by one they slid to the very back. They were
left on the conveyor belt rollers by mistake.
More kilos slid, the center of gravity moves aft, So I dialed in more
nose-down trim....

It seems our friend in France is without his internet connection. According
to his blog, he lost his internet connection, spent three days pay on a new
reouter, and shortly thereafter lost his email and web server.
I honestly hope it's a denial of service attack directed at him. That would

Re-establishing currency - Missed Biannual by

I have a Private Pilot - Single Engine - Land, but I haven't flown in a couple of years.
My Medical is still good until the end of April 2007, but I didn't take my biannual review, so I guess my priviledges expired as of the end of October 2006.
How do I renew my priviledges? Do I simply...
