eights on pylons by
Gary Drescher
When performing eights on pylons, is the goal to keep the target at the same
vertical position on the side window, as well as at the same horizontal
position?

What to get as a gift for a now-retired ATCO? by
Dan Foster
A colleague at work and personal friend's dad is a recently retired ATCO
officer whom has worked at EGLL / LHR for about 30 years.
The chap has done much for me and for many others, so I wanted to send a
thank-you gift that tied in to aviation and perhaps ATC operation.
I know what kind of gifts...

Problem using Thunderbird for newsgroups ?? by
Montblack
I'm using Mozilla/Firefox instead of M$ Internet Explorer. I've also
switched over to (free) Thunderbird, from using M$ Outlook Express 6.0. (So
far I'm OK-happy with this combination)
I've been reading these newsgroups with Outlook Express since 1998. I'm
familiar with it and I like it. Comfort...

Rocky
I can't even remember the last primary student I soloed it was so many
years ago. So, all of a sudden I have three primary students and I
just soloed one of them. As I stood on the edge of the runway watching
him make his pattern and approach and follow through, I tried to
remember the thrill each...

Book title by
PL
Hello,
I once heard about a book which is written for non-pilot-rated
passengers giving some basics about flying and navigation so that he/she
has some basic understanding. Does anybody know the title of that book?
Thanks,
Phil

TSA gets it right for once by
David
from Fox News
WASHINGTON - Troops headed for Iraq can now linger a little longer over
their goodbyes.
The government will allow the families and friends of troops flying to and
from Iraq to escort them all the way to the airport gates, rather than
getting stopped at security checkpoints.
The...

Clapped-out trainers, wildfires, and which complex? by
xxx
I had planned a full moon flight up the coast last night, which had to
be canceled (and not for the first time) due to wildfires and TFR's en
route. For some odd reason they don't want bugsmashers trundling
through the water bombers.
OK, sez I, I'll just fly some patterns.
The first Cessna I...

Landing gear micro switchs by
lardsoup
Preflighting the Arrow I was taught to check the landing gear micro
switches. OK great. There they are. I even work the switch to feel that
it's making contact inside. I was Master Mechanic in the Air Force and
repaired the Autopilot systems on the SR-71 and U-2 so I know about
airplane...

[email protected]

various cities in Maryland, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Florida.
These jobs are mostly contract work with some temp-to-perm
opportunities. Contract jobs pay competitive wages with very generous

More OT by
Franklin Newton
I see TSA is in the news again, that's, Tit Squeezers of America, seems more
females simply don't like being felt up.
Makes ya wonder what would be going on if the Russkys had said those folks
had hidden their explosives internally.
