Insurance claim... do you end up paying it back with increased premiums? by Bret Hess
If you make a claim of say $5000 and want to stay insured, do you end up paying it back (and maybe more)? When I first started glider insurance, I was surprised that you couldn't buy a large-deductible policy. From at least one comment I'm wondering if it's a moot question. I get the feeling...

Dittel VHF repair by Steve Leonard[_2_]
Basic question, but have you made SURE it is not a dead microphone? I have seen dynamic mic elements die, radio gets sent off and comes back "nothing wrong here". Just want to make sure you have looked at all possibilities before you send it off. Steve Leonard (been there, done that)

Stange IGC read-out data by [email protected]
Hi all, I have a strange readout of my flight recorder for last Monday's scratch flight. I'm using an LX 7000 and I am viewing the flight on CU. From about 20:57:40 UTC to 20:59:24 UTC my ship does not appear to be moving. But I do gain in altitude. The expanded track that CU displays also looks...

Hydration/Dehydration/'Overhydration'. by Stan Kochanowski
Not a bit of it ! That's acclimatisation for you. However - even acclimatised individuals need to watch correct hydration - and rapid transits from high to low atmospheric pressure. There's a great deal we 'experts' do not understand about the body - although we often think that we do.
