Boeing 757 turn rate? by
Garyurbach
Can anybody here tall me what the standard rate of turn is in a 757? Is it the
same as small palnes, i.ei, is it universal at 360 degrees in 2 minutes?
I've got someone telling me the Boeing 757 that hit the Pentagon did some
impossible turn before flying into the building, and it sounds like a...

Questions about aerobatics by
Ghazan Haider
These should be in the FAQ:
(1) Can a PPL do aerobatics? If another certification is required what
are the hourly flight minimums in an aero aircraft?
(2) What is the difference between the wing-on-top aerobats like the
Decathlon and the low-wing types like Extra 300 and Cap-232?
(3) Where can I...

Too tall for a Pitts? by
Glenn
(I tried posting this last night via a different NNTP server, with
photos, but I never saw the posting show up anywhere, so I'll post
again)
I am looking at purchasing a homebuilt S1D but am concerned that I
might be too tall. Headroom is probably OK, but I'm not sure about
legroom.
The second...

Johnny Vasey and his Wasp Stearman by
Glenn Jacobs
I am looking for photos of Johnny Vasey Wasp Stearman. If anyone knows of
a sourse or if they have pictures that they would be willing to share I
would appreciate it. I used to watch Johnny fly as a youth in Austin,
Minn. and would like to model his plane.

noise pollution from private planes by
[email protected]
I live in a relatively quiet city, until recently. A flight school
opened up across the bay from me, and all day long, all I can hear
outside are these private plane motor noises.
It is really awful. It is like having a gas powered lawn mower
above me all day long. As one plane leaves, another one...

Outside loops in a Decathlon by
[email protected]
I am relatively new to aerobatics, and I have been flying only positive
manuevers so far. I am flying a 1978 Decathlon with wooden wings. Can
some one give me some tips on flying an outside loop? Things to be
mindful of, and so on? I have the entry speeds from the POH.

High Alpha in a Sukhoi by
Gordoux
Hi,
In the 'Motegi Grand Prix' video at http://www.fulldeflection.com ,
one of the pilots performs a high alpha maneuver. Should it be called
the cobra, or something else ??
I think the pilot is Svetlana Kapanina in her Sukhoi.

brainstorming: homebuilt aerobatic design by
[email protected]
Hi guys,
I am thinking a homebuilt aerobatic plane and am asking for your
opinion on my idea:
The fuselage is of course 4130 steel tubes welded frame.
The point is the wing: I am thinking about using exact the same
Long-EZ's wings technique, i.e. solid form core+fiber glass cover. Why?
Because I...

Snap roll vs. Va by
Greg Esres
For those of you who have aerobatic airplanes, I'd be interested in
data about the recommended entry speed for a snap roll vs. what Va is
in your airplane.
Thanks for any info.
