How hard would it be to make my own headset? by Paul Tomblin
I really like the earplug style headsets. I had a Quiet Technologies, but it got stolen, and now I have a Clarity Aloft. But it amazes me that they're as expensive as the normal clamp-style headsets. I buy $20 Skull Candy brand iPod earbuds, and they make as good an ear seal as the Clarity Aloft...

Wiring in a KI 214 by apachearmtguy
Hello everyone. I am upgrading my nav indicator from a KI 211C to a KI 214 and I have all the wires accounted for in the connector swap except for 2: G/S energize and the .05 Mhz control. Can anyone tell me where these would originate from? I do not have autopilot. Thanks!

Help monitoring air traffic? by Bill Sands
Can anyone point me to: 1) A good airband radio, for listening to commercial aircraft and CTAFs? I have a pretty good one, but it's old and analog so it's difficult to zero in on a frequency, and there can sometimes be 2 active frequencies that are only 0.025 MHz apart, so I'd like to go...

Radial V. Boxer engines by [email protected]
Hi, I have noticed by watching the videos at http://www.fulldeflection.com , that the radial engines of the Sukhoi etc, allow more vertical penetration, but all the Red Bull Air Race planes have boxer engines. I would have thought that the radials would have more engine torque, thus pulling the...

Volkswagen Tuareg ad and THAT alleged 747 by mickenglish
I have looked at the ad time & again, I have googled it and asked my colleagues. The only things I can say for sure are that Boeing haven't clustered engines under a wing since the B52, the nose is all wrong for a 747 and the engine pods and fuel tanks/mach pods look very Russian. Everything else...
