Flight Planning Canada by
Dale
Does anyone know of a sight that offers flight planning for Canada
similar to the airnav.com sight?
I have to ferry a 206 from Anchorage to Arizona in a couple of weeks and
find airnav handy for initial planning.
Thanks in advance.

Why not share our air pictures with people who dream of flying?
I've created a free and open gallery aiming at this.

I hope you'll want to visit it and add some of your pictures. (They
will remain yours and you'll have features to protectthem against
illegal copying.)

Question about St. Maarten by
DeltaDeltaDelta
I'm planing to go this summer to the aviation photographer's paradise.
However, my internet search produced too little information. Now, for those
of you who have seen pictures or have been there, how's that hotel on Maho
Beach called and what's the typical cost of a single bed room per day in...

Any W&B calculators that work in 640x480 on HP4700 PDA? by
Bill
I'm looking for a PDA program that will do wifi to allow duats flight
plans to be filed where there is a wireless hotspot like an FBO.
Probably would work thru DUATs.
Should be heavily template driven so that I only have to fill in a few
things.

DC9-50 and DC9-51 by
WM Morgan
What is the difference between a DC9-50 and a DC9-51?
Also, I found a photo online of a DC9-51 (Swissair) that is described
as the "prototype DC9-51"? The prototype of that model for Swissair?
Or is it THE prototype of all DC9-51's?

Patch: Global Hangar Flying by
[email protected]
Somewhere on rec.aviation.*, I thought I heard about an idea to
create a patch so we could recognize each other at Oshkosh and other
venues.
It so happens that I have an unused patch for:
"Air USENET" and "Global Hangar Flying".
So, I scanned it in and shipped a 3Mb file to Jay Honeck for...

noise pollution from private planes by
[email protected]
I live in a relatively quiet city, until recently. A flight school
opened up across the bay from me, and all day long, all I can hear
outside are these private plane motor noises.
It is really awful. It is like having a gas powered lawn mover
above me all day long. As one plane leaves, another one...

Aircraft ID? by
Jerry
The numbers look too large for the aircraft and cross into the red
stripes -- never seen this on an aircraft. Note that military and law
enforcement helicopters may not have FAA numbers.

VLA outside U.S.? by

I presume you mean "LSA," since there's no US "VLA" certification category.
ummm - sorry about the confusion, you are right. I meant LSA (Light

I think as long as it is N-numbered, reciprocity agreements will allow it to be

Free Aeronautical data by
Paul Tomblin
I've been giving some thought on to how to replace DAFIF navigation data
now that it's going away. And I think the solution is a community of
pilots, software developers and others interested in aeronautical data
developing and maintaining data which can be shared by all interested
parties.
I've...
