What do you do with you plans? by
Bill A.
I just got done building my niece a HUGE dollhouse for her birthday next
month and it dawned on me that I got the plans for the dollhouse from my
neighbor who build one for his granddaughter and one of the guys at work
asked if he could get a copy of the plans now that I'm done. So what do
those of...

Yet More Stupid Tig 101 Questions by
Ded Dog
Have had a tig in basement for several years and hardly used. Now that
I need it I find that I really suck at it. Started practicing welding
little pieces of 4130 together. Decided no way I am touching my
fuselage with it and dragged out the mig which I can do ok with. But
didn't quite give up and...

Kitfox 7/Rotax 914 Performance Questions by
Jim Carriere
Well folks, I hope I'm not opening up a can of worms on this. I searched
the usenet archives on google about this, and nothing quite answered my
question, so...
I emailed Skystar, but want to ask here too.
The kit manufacturer claims a 150mph cruise and 160mph top speed. This
seems a little...

CBS News- Small Airport Security 1/14 Wed by
RDA
Dan Rather/ CBS Evening News is advertising a sensational news story about
small airport security, or, as the advertisement implies, the serious lack
of it.
Typical tag line: "What we found out will surprise you!"
Ok...prepare to be surprised...and gutted...and vivisectioned...only as the
media...

Pitts S1 by
Kai Glaesner
Hello community,
imagine one would like to build a Pitts S1. What would be your
recommendation to start from? I heard Aviat owns the plans for the S1-S,
Steen for S1-C and S1-SS (?). Is there anybody who has build one before and
has some good advice?
Since there are "only" plans available, is...

Engine Questions by
Bill A.
I'm still trying to select an aircraft to build from scratch and it's
starting to look like it's coming down to the engine (budget reasons of
course). I really like the Pietenpol Aircamper but from what I've read you
need a Rotex or other "aircraft" engine and of course that's expensive. I
was also...

Jim Weir's Capacitive Fuel Gauge by
Dave Bowman
I read with keen interest the articles on Jim's capacitive fuel gauge
and want to build two. Has anyone made available a printed circuit
board for it? Where could I get one or two?
Lastly, does nyone have any cheap circuits for a tachometer?
Thanks Dave

Parachute anyone? by
[email protected]
Howdy All,
What is the consensus among homebuilders on using parachutes: either personal
or ballistic for the whole airplane?
While they are expensive, it seems like they might be pretty cheap insurance.
All thoughts and ideas welcome,
tom pettit

Bob Orr and Zzzzz by
C J Campbell
Anyone else see anything funny that Mr. Orr chose ANN to publish his
'response' to the heat he is getting from AOPA and thousands of pilots
around the country?
You almost wonder if he actually wrote it but then you realize that here is
a match made in heaven. CBS and ANN.

Here's the Recompiled List of 82 Aircraft Accessible Aviation Museums! by
Jay Honeck
Okay, folks -- this is rapidly getting out of hand! I would never have
guessed that I'd get EIGHTY-TWO suggestions for this list!
Can everyone please scan this list, and MAKE SURE that these are REALLY
"taxi-up" accessible using a G.A. plane? I don't want folks (like me!) who
are unfamiliar...
