Replacement Altimeter brand names? by
[email protected]
In the continuing saga of my altimeter woes, I've discovered that
my current unit has been forced into obsolecense. It's a Macleod unit,
and most overhaul places say they won't touch them. The guy who did the
IFR cert says, "Buy a brand name like United or Kollsman."
Any thoughts on one...

Insurance exclusions??? by
Paul Anton
I just got my renewal policy from AIG. In the section on War, Hi-jacking and
other exclusions it this exclusion.
"Any malicious act or act of sabotage"
It seems to be that this means if my plane is vandalized, broken into, or
even stolen that it will not be covered!
Almost any act by a person...

Any W&B calculators that work in 640x480 on HP4700 PDA? by
Hilton
Peter,
WingX is not hard-coded to any specific screen size. It runs just fine on
320x240, 240x320, 240x240, 640x480, 480x640, and 480x480. In fact, WingX
even has the option to automatically change between portrait and landscape -
had that for about a year now if I recall correctly. Route...

CO Concentrations in Cabin by
O. Sami Saydjari
I purchased a C0 Experts Model 2002 about 1 month ago (it is quite
precise and I am generally pleased with it). When I am climbing out
from take-off, I am experiencing relatively high readings of CO, on the
order of 30 Parts Per Million (PPM). This only lasts about 20 minutes
or so. At cruise,...

Leaning to Hotest Cylinder by
O. Sami Saydjari
My understanding is that one should lean using the "hotest" cylinder as
the reference point for peak EGT. My question is on the interpretation
of "hotest." Does that mean the cylinder that reaches the hotest EGTs
or CHTs? On mine, they are inversely related (the hotest EGTs are on
the coldest...

Price of Fuel, etc. by
Mike Spera
I would imagine higher fuel/insurance/operating costs will drive the
trends already in motion. Namely, more shared ownership, less private (1
person) ownership, and either a shift towards owners in a higher income
bracket, or fewer owners overall as the ones struggling with the expense
drop...

Possible? by
cathanas
Hi,
I have wanted to get my pilot's license for most of my life. My
father was a pilot in WWII and Korea and owned airplanes up to the
time I was small. I am now in a position to start on my goal and I
need to ask a few questions answered. I fear I am searching for the
"Holy Grail", but can a...

KI-209 equiv/Alternate by
Michelle P
Now that I have upgraded my HSI I am looking at an full function two
axis auto-pilot. I am favoring the S-Tec line and well I have a problem
with panel space unless I go with their top of the line unit.
Is their an equivalent to the 209 that is say 4 or 5 inches deep?

3rd row in a 206 by
Shawn
A couple quick questions about the third row seats in a 206. In
pictures, the rear of the fuselage looks to taper down pretty quickly
aft of the trailing edge of the wing.
What kind of vertical and horizontal room is there in the 3rd row?
Are these just child seats, or could smaller adults sit in...
