Clapped-out trainers, wildfires, and which complex? by
xxx
I had planned a full moon flight up the coast last night, which had to
be canceled (and not for the first time) due to wildfires and TFR's en
route. For some odd reason they don't want bugsmashers trundling
through the water bombers.
OK, sez I, I'll just fly some patterns.
The first Cessna I...

SafeTaxi by
Kobra[_9_]
Flyers,
I have the Garmin 696 which has SafeTaxi installed. The thing is that when
I've landed at large airports (i.e. BWI, PHL, etc.) I can see the taxiways,
but none of them have the Black-Square location designations. If I activate
the curser and put the curser on the taxiway it will give...

The East River turn by
[email protected]
I have a question for this group, but first must state (as will soon
become obvious) that I'm not a pilot and know just enough about flying
to be dangerous, i.e., not much. The question: I've read on this
newsgroup that the turn that Lidle's plane was making was tight (I'm
very familiar with this...

Aircraft Mechanics Wanted by
[email protected]
My company has an immediate need to fill aircraft mechanic positions in
various cities in Maryland, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Florida.
These jobs are mostly contract work with some temp-to-perm
opportunities. Contract jobs pay competitive wages with very generous
per diem.

help in finding book by
fugio
Hello,
Can anyone tell me the name of an aviation book titled something like
"Wild Blue Yonder"? It is a compilation of chapters from other flying
books. There's a chapter by Roald Dahl during WWII, a great story about
a Viet Nam fac, one about a guy parachuting through a thunderstorm, etc.

Century 2000 + GNS430 newbie question by
[email protected]
Hello,
I have a general question about the Century 2000 and GNS430... If I
select an approach (say a VOR approach), can the AP fly the whole full
approach for me (except the altitudes)... procedure turn, etc? Any
help on how/if this is possible would be great.
Thanks,

Problem using Thunderbird for newsgroups ?? by
Montblack
I'm using Mozilla/Firefox instead of M$ Internet Explorer. I've also
switched over to (free) Thunderbird, from using M$ Outlook Express 6.0. (So
far I'm OK-happy with this combination)
I've been reading these newsgroups with Outlook Express since 1998. I'm
familiar with it and I like it. Comfort...
