FBOs Evicted At Santa Monica Airport by
Larry Dighera
It would seem to me, that the City of Santa Monica committed malfeasance in
office by permitting residential development adjacent to the airport many years
ago. Perhaps the City should face charges and be held accountable for their
actions, if justice is to be served.
If the City of Santa...

A while ago I asked for nominations for great books about flying.
Since then I've discovered an Amazon feature that allows for
interactive lists, so I created one on this subject:
http://unspun.amazon.com/Best-Books-about-Flying/list/show/4611
You can vote up or down, and you can add items....

The Aviator by
Rosspilot
I went to see it yesterday. I thought it was actually pretty good, and thought
DeCaprio pulled off a believable Hughes.
The flying sequences seemed a little hokey, and the crash scenes were typical
Hollywood crap, but for 3 hours, it goes by quickly.

How do I find an old accident report? by
George
My uncle was killed in aircraft accident in WWII, 1940 something. Is it
possible to get the accident report on the crash? I know very little about the
crash. He was flying out of Denver for a feeder airline. He was not flying he
was the stew. He was a pilot working his was up. They crash into...

Thundersnow - Destructive turbulence? by
Peter R.
Right now there is a pretty intense lake-enhanced band of snow going on to
the north of my home airport. Twenty four to thirty six inches (0.6 to 1
meter) of snow is expected in that narrow region over the next day. The
forecasters included lightning and thunder in their discussion of this...

Come see us at Oshkosh by
[email protected]
I posted earlier in response to a message from Jay Honeck telling him
to come by our booth at Oshkosh and say high, not meaning to make a
public announcement about a new product we are introducing at Oshkosh,
but it was quickly noticed by others and I was told I was being coy.
I just didn't want to...

Garmin GPSMAP 495 by
Marco Leon[_5_]
Like Piper and the Matrix, Garmin has stripped-out the expensive items in
the 496 and offering the 495 without weather and the automotive package at
$1,595 as opposed to the $2,395. I don't want to underestimate Garmin's
ability to price their products appropriately but I don't think this is a...

Hi, I am in the planning stage for a trip from Kenosha (SE Wisconsin)

planning, and I was thinking...

Beechcraft made in China by
Mxsmanic
Hawker Beech has been sold to a Chinese aviation company. My guess is that, in
ten years, there won't be anything American about Beech except the name, if
even that is retained.

Loophole in the AIP grants???? by
Skylune
Thanx to Cal Pilot website for article on Oceanside Airport.
Very interesting take on FAA grants, from Oceanside Pub Works Director.
Bears some investigating.... From the article:
" Public Works Director Peter Weiss sees a potential loophole in that
policy. Weiss said the federal agency can't...

High Blood Pressure -- Part II by
Jay Honeck
As some of you know, six weeks ago I was diagnosed with high blood
pressure, and was prescribed medication. Although the medicine the doc
gave me WAS on the FAA's list of "approved" drugs, the mere act of
taking such a drug would set into motion all sorts of things regarding
obtaining future...
