GARMIN 196 QUESTION by
Cub Driver
My guess is that there is something wrong with the unit. Certainly not
my experience with the Garmin III+. Prior to that, I used my
daughter's Garmin handheld, and it was painfully slow to acquire, and
prone to losing signal. The difference between the units is night &
day. Can you return it for...

OSH yellow flow, 18R, and the blue spot by
Jack Allison
About the same thing I came up with using the same method Ron. Sounds like
an exciting fwd. slip to landing since you can't descend out of 1800 MSL
until after crossing 9/27. Fun!...no, really, I like slips. :-)

Needed: online database of airports with designators & Lat/Long for GPS upload by
Wayne
FTP is File Transfer Protocol after all. However, 1 megabyte is hardly a
large file by todays standards. Not all FTP's are resumable, then again,
there are programs now that will allow a resume on an HTTP connection as
well. I always use the DOS version of ftp at the command prompt to get the
files...

Info on Richmond International in VA USA? by
Malcolm Teas
I'm a student pilot out of Leesburg (JYO) and am planning one of my
cross country flights to Richmond International (RIC). Any advice on
approach paths to RIC, reporting points, usually used runways, FBO's,
etc?
I thought I'd go in a few days, weather permitting, and might check
out the museum...

Midstate Aviation in Ellensburg, WA by

I haven't heard any "things," but it is a 141 school and FAA oversight
should (I emphasize should) insure that everything is done by the book. The
school's program has an excellent reputation.

Got my ticket... now what? by
Cub Driver
I don't know about you, but for me, the best part about flying is going
to new places. There's something very unique about flying to someplace
new, dropping out of the sky and plopping down. You get a different
feeling about a place when you arrive there by plane - even if it's a
place you...
