A&P available by
Joe Vasher
Hello,
I'm A&P (aircraft & power plant) mechanic, I have over 20 years
experience twisting a wrench, also have a degree in digital
electronics. I would like to offer my assistance to build your
aircraft. I'm willing to teach, or to do the tasks, experienced with
fiberglass, aluminum and cloth...

A&P Revocations! by
Capt.Doug
Some years ago, an A&P designated examiner was convicted of fraud for
issuing mechanic's certificates without giving much of a test. He was
located in Sanford, Florida. Nearly 3000 certified letters were mailed out
last week to everyone who used this examiner from October 1995 to Aug 1998.
The...

A+ for Mooney (M-18) Mite website by
Montblack
I've seen quite a few airplane web pages over the years. I have to say, this
Mooney (M-18) Mite site is one of the better ones I've seen. This site does
many, many, many things right, IMHO.
One very, very minor nit is ...the (very good) Photos/History page is one
level down, in the Articles link....

A-65 Continental 100 Octane Valves: HELP! by
Scott
Ok gurus,
Last Fall, I developed trouble in one cylinder (leakage past the exhaust
valve as evidenced by hissing sound coming out exhaust stack when
pulling the engine through).
It only appears to be one cylinder, but I thought now would be a good
time to pull all four and convert to 100 Octane...

A-65 mechanic question by
Michael Horowitz
My A-65 had the lower half redone.
At operating temp. and at idle, the oil pressure is certainly below
15PSI and may be below 10.
I asked the company that did the work and they replied "we don't worry
about low pressure at idle".
Continental says a minimum of 10PSI.
I'll get my A&P to put a real...

A-65 Oil screen thread pitch? by
Scott
Doe anybody know what the thread pitch for the oil screen is on a
Continental A-65? I have slightly boogered threads on the engine
threads and I want to run a set of dies through (I bought a tool with
the dies from McMaster Carr). It looks like 16 TPI is the closest.
Does that sound...

A.N.N interview by
Stuart & Kathryn Fields
We recently met and were interviewed by Paul Plack of the A.N.N at a
helicopter meet near Provo Utah. I think that Paul enjoyed the meet and was
involved as both a journalist and someone enjoying the affair. There were
two Helicycles and several Hughes 500 class helicopters as well as an R-22...

A/C tool kit by
Stuart & Kathryn Fields
I would like to have a packaged plastic case tool kit similar to some being
offered by Sears, Costco and others. However I don't need all the metrics
offered by the others. I would like to have standard and deep 6pt. sockets
in 1/4 drive and 3/8 drive sizes from 3/8 thru 3/4, combination...

A700 by
Big John
Xoooommmm tried to stick it to Adams in ANN for bringing their new
A700 aircraft to Osh without the envelope fully opened.
I guess all the manufacturers that bring new aircraft to the Paris Air
Show should also be slammed for not having fully opened their
envelopes before displaying the bird(s) or...

The NiMH AA batteries in the handheld are now almost 6 years old, and are

Abandoned cargo: Anybody recognize this airplane mockup? by
Bob Kuykendall
This just popped up on SalvageSale:
http://www.salvagesale.com/showoffer.asp?o=21033&l=16457218
Looks like sales mockups of two small airplanes. The description is for
an airplane and a car, but it looks to me like mockups of a two-seater
airplane fuselage and a four-seater cabin. Judging by the...

About digital meters by

I ask a fool question:
Being an Ultralight pilot, do you prefer mechanical flight instruments
or digital meters?
One of my Chinese customers told me they prefer mechanical aircraft
instruments. Since they are more reliable than digital meters. They
are easy to read, liking a car derving...

I have been working on it for a dam* year and a half. Keeps me out of

darlins they are.

About that X-Prize by
Shiver Me Timbers
Hey folks...... It's just me again.
I thought that to claim the X-Prize that two passengers had to be taken
upstairs as well as the pilot.
Yesterday I saw the pilot during the flight, then waving the flag, but
I didn't see sign of passengers.
Was I blind...... or just misinformed.
