C-121 HEEELPPP! by
Jeff Franks
I am attempting to have a C-121 Constellation model made for my father for
Christmas. He was an ECM operator "backender" in the mid-60's in VQ-2. He
has sent me several pictures of the Connie in the past, but only one in the
VQ-2 paint scheme as he flew them. His description and the black &...

Older airframes by
Jim
This time of the year I usually ask the regular readers of this
newsgroup which aircraft they flew years ago they'd most like to see
with a newer engine. Always worthy of many fine comments.
This time a slight revision. You are recalled to active duty for
combat overseas. You will return with a...

Navy Grounds 104 Hornets To Inspect For Airframe Cracking

after inspections revealed that cracking has occurred earlier than
predicted in some airframes,...

World Air Power Journal by
Thomas Schoene
Probably slightly against the rules, but I hope people will bear with me.
I found a stack of the first 20 World Air Power Journals at a used bookstore
last weekend. That means I'm now missing only a few issues, but I also have
some duplicates.
I need #21, #22, #24, #25, #26, #27, #28, and...

4 x Invincible class or 1 x Nimitz class by
jokoch
I just have a thought of the above subject. Say you're the planner
for an RN size navy, which one would you prefer, 4 x small CVBG or 1 x
BIG CVBG? Say it's all for offensive purpose and not for homeland
defence.
I think it equates well in terms of tonnage and man power, but how
about power...

Phantom-II development story by
Tony Volk
Here's an interesting tidbit that I got while reading Airtime's book
about the Phantom (looks great so far). Apparantly, during the preliminary
design stage, McDonnell and an aide went around talking to naval aviators to
see what they wanted. Then, they talked to the aviators' wives about...

WW II - Diesel birds? by
Cougar
Somebody on another forum was trying to convince people that
because of the gasoline shortages during WW-II that there were
quiet a few aircraft that actually used diesel fuel.
I know that people are playing with that today, but was it
really used in aviation back then?
Thanks,
Coug

VIDEO: USMC F/A-18 Hornet crashes during airshow display by

doug- Classic low altitude loop mistake... He waits too long inverted not
realizing that even though his nose is above the horizon, he's descending.
Not enough room to pull out of the back side. BRBR
I had a USMC O-4 in VX-4 with me that went on to work for this pilot. There
