Can I modify a used homebuilt aircraft? by
[email protected]
If I buy a used homebuilt, is it possible for me to make big
modifications, such as installing a larger engine, adding long range
fuel tanks, floats, etc., assuming there was an A/P to sign-off on
it? Any FAA approvals required? Is it likely an A/P would be willing
to make major changes like this...

Can Kit Prices be Negociated? by
Paul Dow
Sorry if this has been asked a hundred times before, but I'm new to this
group and didn't see it in existing messages.
I was wondering if most or all kit plane prices are fixed, or can they
be negociated like when purchasing a car?
As far as I can see, there are often special Show Prices for many...

Can old LORAN receivers use single loop antennas by
Rick Marvin
The new Enhanced LORAN receivers will use H-field double loop antennas to
avoid the p-static that plagues the old E-field whip antennas.
A developer of an enhanced LORAN receiver said that old receivers could
not be retrofitted with double loop antennas.
-- Is this because the new antennas provide...

Can someone ID this airplane? by

Can someone ID this airplane?
http://www.abpic.co.uk/photo/1093439/
No, not the gyro in front of it, the plane behind the gyro with the
twin boon. Three brownie point to the first enthusiast able to ID
this plane.
Thanks,
Wil

Can Washout Cause Flutter?? by
DonMorrisey
A friend's homebuilt recently went down with an 8000 hour pilot at the
controls. No one was hurt and the plane was landed in a field. The
pilot reported hearing/feeling an extremely loud vibration from the
wing, he immediately killed power and landed. One of the wings was
visibly buckled. The...

Can we talk about the Randolph problem? by
Michael Horowitz
Folks - Back in June I began trying to get products from Randolph
distributors. Heard stories of the factory relocating and problems
with HAZMAT licenses; I'm sympathetic to a point, but.....
About a month ago, when asking a distributor about when the new
Ceconite 101 manual would be out, and why...

Can you help identify this airport? by
Video Guy
Hello
My family has an aerial photograph of an airport we need help to identify.
It was taken by my late father-in-law sometime in the 1960's. At least that
's our guess. Could be a little later; and maybe even a bit earlier; we
just aren't sure.

Can You Name an "Aircraft-Accessible" Aviation Museum? by
Jay Honeck
In another post about the fabulous new Udvar-Hazy Center (part of the
National Air & Space Museum), frustration with not being able to fly into
this terrific new facility was evident. I personally find it appallingly
ironic that museums which purport to glorify flight are not accessible...

Can't remember ---- by
Richard[_8_]
What was the name of the little biplane that Robert Cringly built in
that Plane Crazy show
where he was going design and build an airplane in 30 days?
Actually, the factory built it. But that's show biz.
It was called a Jungster - but wasn't THAT Jungster
VW powered.

Can't remember plane name. by
Pintlar
An older type two seater, all metal, low wing, fixed tricycle gear (it may
have castered), with twin vertical stablizers, and about an 85 hp engine.
NO RUDDER PEDALS. One I remember you had to hand crank.
Darn if I can remember the name of this craft. Can't be too many that fits
this...

For the Canadian builders or future builders in southern Ontario, the Europa
factory folks will be attending the Aviation Expo (Canada's largest aviation
show) this weekend on June 18th at the Oshawa Airport, with a tri-gear demo
ship. With luck a local builder will also fly in with his fine...

Canard planes swept wing outer VG's? by
Paul Lee
I have the copy of the CAFE test of Cozy Mk IV canard where it states
that swept wings tend to start stalling at the tip rather than the root.
This moves the center of lift forward and is a bigger problem for aft
CG.
While canard planes swept wings typically already have those
"vortilon" tabs, has...
