A few years ago an L39 Albatros crashed at Frederick airport MD. Anyone have more info on this? I met an owner of an L39 based at FDK while out flying over there. I'm wondering if it is the same guy. Monk

Anyone know of a Beech 18 based near RDU? by Heath Roberts
I've recently become enamored of the Twin Beech, but have so far only admired it from a distance. Does anyone know of one near RDU (Raleigh/Durham, NC) with an owner who might like to show me around, or even better, go for a short flight? I'm paying for fuel, of course...

What type of connector do Northstar M1 M3 use? by [email protected]
I want to build a cable to run my M1 & M3 at home in demo mode. Both navigators use the same connector & pinout for their power (connector P15 on M3, not sure about M1). The connector looks like a Centronics 24-pin, but the edges are more rounded. I showed my local electronic store my M3 but...

Flying in MD by Scott Lowrey
Looks like I'm moving from MN to MD. I'll probably be living in or very near Germantown, so I have a choice of three airports I can use to finish my instrument rating: Gaithersburg, Davis, and Frederick (GAI, W50, FDK) in order of increasing distance. Other than trading the relatively free skies...

Sport Pilot by Newps
A friend of mine is going to let his medical lapse and then fly his PA-11 under the sport pilot rules. From what both he and I have researched there is no certifcate issued from the FAA that says you are a sport pilot. What does a person have to carry when operating under sport pilot rules, just...

Ice Boats by Kevin Dunlevy
Today I had the pleasure of flying over a frozen lake with four ice boats sailing, White Bear Lake MN. They look so graceful. It was certainly windy enough, but I'd be reluctant go out on the ice as mild as this winter has been. KD

Clarity Aloft Question by [email protected]
Has anyone tried using a cell/music adapter for this headset? I called about upgrading to the new set they are offering, but it is $50 and I lose my PTT switch to boot. The headset is listed as mono, so does that mean that an adapter for stereo music wouldn't work? Thanks for the help.

If you better economics, start at home by R.L.
Unlike in medical malpractice, most aviation lawsuits are wrongful death actions involving dead pilots. And guess who sues when a pilot dies: THE FAMILIES of dead pilots, blaming the manufacturer for their beloved's death. So if we want aviation economics to improve, we must prohibit our...
