3-blade prop? by
Jay Honeck
We were hoping that our prop would last until the city was done
repaving our horrible taxiways. There was no sense in replacing it
while we were literally picking up stone chips on every flight.
Well, on our first flight after getting back in our own hangar, with
our beautiful new taxiways (after...

More plane ownership? by
Dave Covert
This is something that has puzzled me for a while...
I (a private pilot) work in the pleasure marine industry and have noticed
that almost anyone who wants to own a boat does own a boat. Now, some boats
are indeed pretty cheap, but a $20,000 boat is fairly common (approx cost of
a 150?). Here in...

Problems with Rapco dry vacuum pumps. by
abripl
Just a warning for those who might consider purchasing Rapco dry vacuum
pumps. Make sure that your engine does not leak oil. If there is any
chance of an oil drip onto the Rapco vacuum pump it may eventually stop
working. The connecting shaft is vented to air. But if some oil drops
on the shaft it...

Battery storage? by
Roger Long
We put a fresh battery in our plane for the winter starting season even
though the old one was in good shape. On advice from several sources, I put
the old one on a Sears trickle charger as a spare. The charger claims to
sense the battery condition and be suitable for long term connections.
I...

haven't seen any since the last time. Any help would be appreciated.

Garmin 430 and 530 by
Kobra[_10_]
Flyers,
I have an auction on eBay for the King Schools Flying the Garmin 430/530.
The auction starts at 20.00. The set retails for $249.00. It's a great
tool for learning in both VFR and IFR systems.

ARC cessna transponder information wanted by
dave
i'm working on a plane and his RT459A transponder is not working properly.
I would suspect that it may be cheaper to replace than to fix it.
Are all the ARC transponders interchangeable?
If not, which ones are/aren't?
Are there any replacement transponders that will fit the tray?
Thanks
Dave

Scientific Data on Engine Operations by
O. Sami Saydjari
This is actually a split off from the "Rotating Injectors Among
Cylinders" thread. I prefer not to distract that thread any.
I must say that I find the evidence presented in support on LOP to be
uncompelling. Although it is certainly appealing at the gut level, it
is a far cry from scientific...
