1997 Cessna 182S by
EDR
My flying club just acquired a 1997 Cessna 182S on leaseback. It
arrived this past Thursday, and I was the first club member to rent it
(today).
Interesting comparing it to our 1986 Cessna 182R.
Our EAA chapter had our monthly luncheon flyout today, so I got three
legs in to sample different power...

1st Aerobatic Flight -- I want a Super Decathalon! by
Jay Honeck
As some of you may recall, several months ago I dreamily posted the idea of
rolling my Pathfinder.
I never really intended to try it, but I did wonder if it was even possible
to achieve without ripping off the wings. Many of you assured me that it
would probably roll just fine, but that the...

1st Flight in a G-1000 182 by
Bartscher
Just got my first flight in a G-1000 equipped 182 yesterday. After spending 1.5
hours on the ground a few days earlier, going through the avionics modes, I
went for a 1.4hr flight yesterday. The capabilities of the G-1000 are very
impressive, but there is a lot to learn.
The weirdest things for me...

1st passenger and in-ear headsets by
Jase Vanover
A week after earning my license, I took my wife up for an hour flight today.
She has put up with the process of me spending 8 months earning the license,
so I wanted to "treat" her by being my first passenger.
No big details to add, other than the flight was great. Relatively strong
wind, 20...

1st solo IFR/IMC experience by
Jack Allison
We needed to get the Arrow to the avionics shop at another airport and
both partners are out of town. Gee, that means I have to fly the plane.
What, you mean skip work to fly, since the avionics shop is open
8-5
and the problem with that is...what? :-) Even better, it was a
Monday. What a way...

2 "emergencies" this AM by
Robert M. Gary
My partner and I went up in the Mooney this AM to take advantage of the
unusual overcast at MHR. Tower was reporting around 1,000 overcast with
vis around 3. We took off from our little foothills airport (non-tower)
right behind a Luscome who seemed to depart right into the soup. In the
2 hours it...

2 aircraft cleared onto the same runway at the same time by
Tom Fleischman
This was a new one for me.
I was IFR this afternoon out of HPN for short practice flight. I was in
sequence number two at the runway waiting for departure. As the tower
controller cleared the Cessna in front of me to position and hold, he
asked him his direction of flight. The Cessna pilot...

2 Robinson helicopters crash at Torrance,CA by
flyer
A Robinson R44 and an R22 crashed at 3:30 Thursday afternoon. The R44
contained a flight instructor and student taking the Robinson safety
course in the 4 place. The R22 had a student making his first
supervised solo. Amazingly, the crash occured right in front of the
control tower. The student...

2-place Intercom and 4 Headsets by
Kai Glaesner
Hello community,
imagine you have a plane (rented) with a build in 2-place intercom
(sigtronics in this case) and want to give your passengers their own
headsets, so you can communicate with them. It is not necessary for them to
hear the radio transmissions you make, although, it would be nice (if...

2.3 hours of heaven... by
Jay Honeck
Sunshine!
We had not flown since December 23rd -- a new downtime record for Mary and
me -- so flying today felt really, REALLY good.
1.0 hours up to Janesville, WI in crystal clear, absolutely silky
smooth, -20 degree air at 5500 feet, followed by an outstanding (if
cholesterol deadly) breakfast...

2005 rec.aviation fly-in by
David Wenk
Would like some info on the rec.aviation fly-in at Pinckneyville - is it
happening this year for sure? Also, if there's anybody out there who knows
PJY really well, could you get in touch? We'd like to do an article on the
field for Flyguides and AOPA.
Thanks a lot,
David Wenk
