Concorde - join the campaign by Jim Carter
Am I mistaken? I thought I saw a news-magazine segment on the Concorde that indicated it usually was fairly well booked. I believe the story line was that the seating capacity was insufficient for fuel and maintenance when we had to start paying more than 27 cents a gallon. -----Original...

Fuel sender gaskets??? by mikem
I'm replacing the fuel sender gaskets to cure a leak. The old gaskets show evidence of extrusion due to overtightening the screws. How tight should the screws be? (Tight enough to seal, but not tight enough to deform/cut the gasket?) Should I use any form of gasket cement between the steel face...

Cincinnati airports and hangar space by [email protected]
Hi all, I may be moving to Cincinnati and will need a place to hangar my old Bonanza. Anybody know if there is any hangar space available and what the typical rental prices might be? Not sure where I'll be living yet, but will probably be working in the downtown area.

Fuel Injection and Variable Timing by Charles Talleyrand
I was curious how much fuel injection and variable spark timing reduces fuel consumption and increase power in an airplane engine. Auto engine data does not help because auto engines are run over a wide range of conditions, wereas an aviation engine typically runs at cruise power and can...

Aircraft Spruce has a product listing for the Approach Sport Hub Avionics Wiring Systems http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/avpages/approach1.php The Pro Hub for IFR is $600 and the cables aren't cheap, but it seems like once this is installed, avionics additions/upgrades could be done fairly...

Cost of Garmin 300XL installed vs. GNS430 by [email protected]
Does anyone have recent experience getting a Garmin 300XL GPS/COM installed? I'm trying to figure out the comparison in price between the 430 and the 300 when it comes to the total cost of the installation. This will initially be a VFR only installation, but I want the GPS to be IFR capable so that...

Odd starting problem by Prime
Perhaps somebody here has an idea about this little problem. A few weeks ago, shortly after annual, I tried to start our Cherokee 140. It kicked for a few revs, and then failed to start no matter what I did. I noticed the aux fuel pump kept pumping, as if it was not building pressure. The primer...

My Archer is in annual and I ask the A&P to check on replacing the trim switch on the yoke. It has been getting a little hard to get it to activate in the "down" direction. He just called and said Piper wanted about $325 for the SWITCH. I looked in Aircraft Spruce and a non PMA switch is about...
