Homebuilt/Kitbuilt by
doylex
Keep reading about problems with kit versions. Anyone know what the
ultimate kitbuilt copter would be if you wanted to carry 2 persons and
1 kid and not spend $344,000 for a Robinson?

What are some good, reputable schools for a 700 hour fixed wing pilot

And what are some good sites for used helicopter sales?

Paging Pilot Kevin - Paging Pilot Kevin by
SHIVER ME TIMBERS
Well I was off the newsgroups for a few weeks due to a
wardrobe malfunction and kinda missed some of your posts
and didn't comment when you changed flight schools.
So congrats... I understand the new license is safely in the wallet next
to the Visa card and condoms.
So how many hours you got and...

Rotor lift coefficient by
devi
I have been trying to model rotor wake using vortex methods, I am
confused regarding the lift coefficient, should the value of the lift
coefficient obtained after computing the lift using the bound vortex
strength of the blade be the same as the sectional lift coefficient of
the airfoil?

What is LEAF? by
TM
A newbie question, no doubt, but I need to know.
This is a quote from a GyroBee builder's site:
«There is some variation in the labeling of standard 3/16 aircraft
washers. Primarily, I have labeled them an AN960-316 but you will also
find them labeled AN960-10 (in the LEAF catalog, for...

Speaking of POP OUT FLOATS by
SHIVER ME TIMBERS
How many of you saw the shots on TV last night of the
helicopter upside down in the water... in NYC.
Looks like the floats at least kept the machine at the water's surface
as apposed to the machine sinking.
But as a lurker who only saw one shot of the machine.... what do I know.
Where's Micbloo...

Us Kiwis Sure Love our Helicopters by
JohnO
Surprisingly, according to the NZ CAA Register, there are more R22
Betas registered than any other aircraft type fixed or rotary wing. and
R44 Raven II comes in 3rd!

High-Strength Aluminum Helps 2-Stroke Engines by
sanman
Check this out:
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2004/04/040427054317.htm
Interesting stuff... I wonder if aviation homebuilders could benefit
from 2-stroke engines made with this stuff? Comments?

Armed Reconaissance Helicopter (from Presidential Helo) by
Helowriter
The Army cancelled the Comanche 'cause it had so mis-managed the
program that production became untenable. Given a choice of a Low
Observable armed recon helicopter or essential equipment for a wartime
fleet, the choice itself was sort of obvious.
That doesn't mean the armed recon mission is...
