changing operating limitations by pittss1c
Is it possible to change the operating limitations of your homebuilt after it has been certified? Let me take the more extreme case... I was wondering, if one owned (or bought) an RV3, is it possible to change the operating limitiations to have a red line of 120 knots, and a maximum continous RPM...

Bamboo Propellers by Bob
In a related post I asked if anyone had heard of such a thing. So far the only response indicates a misunderstanding of how bamboo is used for such things. In the tropics -- with Vietnam being a fair example -- bamboo often has a diameter of several inches. When split AND STEAMED you're...

Fixing the Transponder with Duct Tape and Aluminum Foil by Ron Wanttaja
I'd installed my new Microair transponder a month ago, but have been having troubles with interference. The transponder was inducing bad clicking sounds into the comm radio receiver, making the radio difficult to understand. I couldn't really blame the Microair, since the Terra transponder I'd...

H2 Combustion-Booster Claimed by [email protected]
Here's one I just read: http://www.canada.com/montreal/montrealgazette/news/story.html?id=cfe... Some fellow is claiming he has a small device that will boost combustion efficiency and save drivers lots of money, while reducing emissions. Obviously, plenty of claims have been made before, so I'm...

what engines are making successful aero engine conversions? by Stealth Pilot[_2_]
I'm in Western Australia. locally our supplies of VW engines seem to have dried up. Even BMW motor cycle engines seem to have dried up. what other currently available engines have been successfully used in aircraft? the engine problem seems to provide the most unsolvable dilema when attempting to...

engine pre-oiler by Stuart & Kathryn Fields
I'm thinking about using an electric diesel fuel pump to pressurize my 0320 with engine oil to pre-lube before starting. Have any of you tried that? The accumulator method is heavier than I want to use.

Constant Speed Prop vs Variable Engine Timing by Jay

I have to begin making a few decisions on how to drop a few pounds (off my butt and my airplane!) For one, I'm considering making the composite tank as outlined in Tony Bengelis' book. Been ripped by AS&S deceptive freight pricing??? by Kenny Danielson
On a recent shipment AS&S charged $55 for a shipment that should have cost approx $31-35 according to UPS. AS&S can't explain the charges nor admit they are wrong. I suppose they feel UPS is mistaken. Anyone else experience this deception? Kenny Danielson, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho
