Hangar information in Connecticut by
Dave
I'm on a temporary job assignment in Stratford, ct and have been
thinking about bringing my old Bonanza up from Texas.
Anybody know of a good place to hangar an aircraft in this part of the
country?
Haven't flown in a few months and having withdrawals at this point.
Might need to rent something,...

Good Ol' Guv by

The old rent vs buy decision.....
His acts are not without an aviation parallel: Eliot's stupid harlot
trick is what happens when one fails to properly make the rent/buy
decision.
Renting at $4500/hour might've looked good on paper compared to what he
could get at home---his $151K...

Airplane Parnerships by
Jon Kraus
What would be some ways to get in touch with someone when looking for a
partner to share in the joys (and sorrows) of aircraft ownership? I am
going to try placing flyers at the local FBO's. I thought about
downloading the Airmans database from the FAA and pulling out all the
pilots with current...

Hey, My Plane was on TV! by
Bob Chilcoat
WABC this evening in New York had a hatchet piece on the "Security" (or lack
of) at small airports in the area. Phil Boyer had a couple of seconds on
camera pointing out the billions it would cost to fence in and secure all
the small airports in the country. The reporter drove around a number...

I need a renter's liability policy with $1MM total liability and $500M
per seat coverage. I called AOPA and they only offer $1MM/$100M
coverage. I think they still use Avemco. Anyone know of a company that
offers high seat limits?
My company requires this level of coverage to get into they...

dodged another one! by
Michelle P
Well the latest Lycoming Crank AD is out.
I dodged another one. Looks like 1995 was a good year for IO-540s!
Wonder if I will be so lucky in the future.

Strange Comm problem. by
John[_9_]
We are currently working on two new turbine aircraft built about 60
serial numbers apart. They have each presented the same problem.
Comm reception on frequency 118.5 deterioates after an hour so and
becomes unreadable when the tower is broadcasting. However, you can
still hear other aircraft...

What was it? by
Jim Burns
Last week I walked up to a couple pilots discussing an airplane that was
sitting on the ramp at STE. They noted that it did not have a data tag on
it so they really weren't sure what it was.
What it looked like was an early straight leg 172 fastback, but it had a
swept tail, not a straight tail. ...

Oil for a new engine? by
Bob Martin
A friend of mine just got a new Continental engine for his Cessna
(182RG I think, but don't those have struts? This one doesn't, but it
isn't a Cardinal... I don't know my Cessnas too well... anyways). He
says the factory had it sent with some expensive brand of 5W-30 (or
was 5W-15? something...

I am looking at sharing the cost of an aircraft with 3 others.
Does anyone out there have an example agreement or know the location of one
on the net for viewing?

Meter Problems by
Robert A. Barker
All:
I have a 1966 C150 with a Continental 200 engine.
Before I bought the plane, the owner had the generator
removed and replaced with an alternator.Part of that installation included a
circular cluster gage that has a voltmeter, ammeter, cht meter and egt meter.
During my recent run-up I switched...

OMF Aircraft - any experience? by
Ross Rehfeld
The upcoming OMF-4 looks like a lot of plane at a whole lot less than a 182.
Anyone have thoughts on how they like their current OMF planes?
Thanks,
Ross Rehfeld
