Vibration is Citabria by
TIm Gilbert
We have a '67 KCAB that has a weird vibration from time to time. You can
feel it in the stick and seat. It is the worst around 2200-2400 rpm but
only in the air. On the ground it isn't noticeable. Oil analysis is fine
and the engine seems smooth. We've installed new motor mounts and
everything...

Sticking yoke by
soxinbox
When doing steep turns, I noticed that there is a little resistance to pitch
changes on the yoke. It seems it binds a little in the bearing through the
panel. Does anyone have a suggestion for the type of lubricant I could use
on this? Do they make anything for this purpose?

Anti-fog window spray? by
Peter R.
What is a good anti-fog spray for the interior aircraft windows?
Departing during Buffalo's lake effect snow last Thursday, I had my plate
full as it was when about 1,500 feet above the ground the interior of my
Bonanza's windows glazed over in a fog that quickly turned to ice.

steve
I need to remove my KLN 35A but I can't figure out how - small hole in the
front - I assumed it was for an allen wrench - none of mine fit it - too
small for a tiny screwdriver - what's the secret to getting this thing out ?
The battery in the unit is going dead and needs to be replaced - figured...

FAA Owner's survey by
Jim Stewart
The FAA has been nagging me repeatedly to
fill out their aircraft owner's survey.
Does anyone have a strong opinion either
way as to why I should or should not do it?

'87D gets a makeover - 3 by
Dan Luke
The interior is finished. The work was done at Southern Avionics' new shop
at Mobile Downtown Airport.
http://tinyurl.com/gj5kt
It took 3-1/2 weeks and, according to their manager, went 90% over their
labor estimate. He is somewhat in shock about how long it took--it was
their first small...

Mystery Oil leak... cont'd and long by
Jim Burns
Why would a cold engine drip oil out of the breather? If you're bored or
have any answers... read on.
Lycoming IO-540 C4B5
Like some of the other owners in the group, we've had a mystery oil leak on
one of our engines. Nothing severe, not enough to show up as "missing" on
the dip stick. ...

Panel mount for handheld Garmin GPSMap X96 series by
Brock Boss
Found this on JA Air Center's website the other day:
http://shorterlink.com/?R7L145
This solves a problem we(my brother and I) have encountered in our 67
Skyhawk. We were thinking about fabricating some type of panel mount
for our Garmin GPSMap 296 but just couldn't come up with a good...

Pilots Uniform: Good idea?? by
[email protected]
General aviation is under attack: Many 'forces' would like it to go to
the dust bin of history.
Aircraft charter services, fractional ownership etc is growing leaps
and bounds and as such, more than EVER, FBO's are LOADED with NON
FLYING persons waiting to be picked up for a charter or...

Since I already have two very good radios, I think a Garmin 430 would be a

TSA and the USA by
Dan D[_2_]
It seems the AOPA keeps just saying that we agree that little planes are a security problem, but really, lets figure out
a way to comply with the bogus regulations and rules coming out of DC. This nonsense needs to stop and these rules need
to be removed from the books. The TSA does not have the...

Group Poll: How many hours between mag overhauls? by
Jon Kraus
Our Mooney has a 500 hour recurring AD for inspecting the Impulse
Coupler. While they have it off they will inspect the points and
condensers and replace worn ones. Our left mag was out of time by 5
degrees so they had to remove the magneto anyway.

The engine is finally back! by

After sending my Lycoming AEIO-540 to the factory for a mandatory repair it
has finally returned. At Oshkosh this year the people at the Lycoming booth
swore it would take only two weeks, but when the actual paperwork arrived
everything said one month in the shop. It ended up taking a little over...
