Weight and Balance Formula, Can one calculate the envelope by Joe Wasik
Hello, I put together a quick Excel spreadsheet that calculates total weight and total moment for a Cessna 172. However, to check the CG, I still have to take these calculated values and place them onto the diagram called "Center of Gravity Moment Envelope". Does anyone know if this lookup can be...

C172 and Spins by Dan[_10_]
Anyone else have expereince with the C172E (1964)? No matter what I did I could not get that bird to spin to the right. Left spins take some work, and power helps (of course). But right it just wallows and then steep spirals.

Sims by LWG
Lots of posters here have fun bashing MX, but I have to say that one of the more enjoyable experiences I've had lately was sitting in the family room, in front of the PC. I am working on my instrument ticket. Ove the years I have collected the CH yoke and footpedals. I have downloaded a flight...

Bertie's Supporters and Sockpuppets - Vol 3 by MaxweII

A vote for Bertie is a vote for filth, confusion, cross posting, forging, lying, making fun of someone's deceased relatives, etc. Let...

Ram air by Tina
The Mooney 201 has a ram air port, a half a foot under the prop spinner. The POH tells us it can be opened at altitude for a very modest increase in MP and we find maybe a half inch increase in pressure. The idea of the thing is, if the port is looking right at the air being thrust toward it by the...

Post-accident photos of RV/TBM Avenger Oshkosh taxi collision by Jim Logajan
Some post-accident photos (no gore, thankfully) showing the RV and TBM Avenger were posted on a forum on Doug Reeves' RV website: http://www.vansairforce.com/community/showthread.php?t=9638 Really gives some perspective on the visibility, or lack thereof, that both pilots must have experienced.

P-63 (?) Airacobra/Kingcobra power question by Ricky
A question for the physics-minded among us, or for anyone who just has the answer. I have heard the Airacobra was underpowered and that got me to thinking; Does having an engine at the middle of the fuselage (in any plane for that matter, like the XP-58) and connected by a long shaft contribute to...
