Sorry about that.....I posted that (I thought) as a link. That's what

Compiled List of Aircraft-Accessible Aviation Museums by
Jay Honeck
WOW! I had no idea this thread would be so productive! Here is the list,
compiled from all of your posts. As you can see, some are more complete
than others. If anyone can add some of the missing information, please do
so!
For example, some people didn't post what STATE their suggested museum...

Throw a Weight in the Back? by
Kirk
Anyone ever throw a weight in the back to get within allowable weight and
balance? I am flying a C182 with 430 pounds (pilot & passenger) in the
front row. The point is I would like both of us to sit up front for the
flight. I have other aircraft that I can fly, and this is not a required
flight...

things to carry by
Gary Drescher
A pilot crashed on a NH mountain in fog yesterday. He survived, but his
17-year-old son did not. Rescuers were able to find him in part because he
was blowing a whistle. I just added one to my flight bag.

Cindy McCain Pilot? by
Larry Dighera
Last night on The Tonight Show, Cindy McCain mentioned that she would
be doing a lot of flying as part of husband John McCain's 1982
Congressional campaign, so she attended flight ground school in an
attempt to overcome her fear of flying. She said she then received
flight training, and earned her...

Engine problem - Seneca II by
BDS
We've been having a problem with the engines on our Seneca II for awhile now
and I wonder if anyone else has any experience with it. The engines are
TSIO-360s and if we lean at cruise with about 75% power (typically around
32-in MP) or less to anything over about 1400 EGT (which is still ROP),...

Rough Field Landings by
[email protected]
Here I am with the big stick again. I can't recall anyone discussing
rough area landings or hostile terrain landings in a long time. For
example, forced to land (no matter the reason-you supply one) and you
are headed into a corn field, or a rice paddy, or trees, or perhaps
mountain slopes. Well...

Top Ten Things that Suck About Oshkosh by
Jay Honeck
In the past I've been accused of being hopelessly starry-eyed about
Oshkosh, to the point of waxing poetically sappy.
Just to prove that I'm not all sniffly about leaving OSH, I thought
I'd list my Top Ten List of things that suck about Oshkosh. Feel free
to add yours.

Multiengine Rating by
[email protected]
Hi,
i'm interested in the multiengine rating (land), VFR-add-on to my
PP-ASEL.
Any comments about the best training aircraft for these purpose ?
(PA34 Seneca, Beech Duchess, PA44 Seminole, Diamond DA42, ..)
There are big differences concerning the rating requirements.
Some flight schools offer a...

Taking newbies flying... by
Dan Luke
....offers endless opportunities for screwing up the experience for them, as
I've demonstrated yet again.
My business partner's 21-yr. old son has been hinting around for a few years
that he wanted to try flying sometime. When he finally asked outright to
take a flight, I was happy to agree,...

Switching to ground.... by
David Rind
I landed at BED a couple of days ago, and as I was rolling out
the controllers switched, so I never got the usual instruction
to "turn off at Golf, ground .7". Since Golf was the first
taxiway to turn off on anyway, I made the turn off.
Tower was now so busy (common at BED) that I could not get a...

Cessna Caravan Twin Conversion? by
Dan
I was wondering where I could find any information about a twin engine
caravan conversion. I remember seeing this a while back where someone
had geared to turbines together to keep a single prop. Does anyone
know who did the conversion?
Thanks,
Dan

production date of July 1 -- I am planning a Forums talk Wednesday

ILS approach to near minimums - Video by
[email protected]
First time for me going down to near ILS minimums by myself. Video
includes how I brief my IFR approaches.

Video I think does a good job on demonstrating why the runway may not
be always exactly in front of you after wind correction angle
considerations...

Why do turbocharged piston props seem to be so rare/unfavored? Don't they
provide a substantial advantage over normally aspirated engines?

Lightspeed Headset Story-Wow by
Al Gilson
I have a Lightspeed 15XL ANR headset and I like it. It really cuts down
on the noise. However, when I pulled it out to go flying a couple of
weeks ago, I discivered that the headband was broken. I was depressed.
I have had it for about 18 months and I figured I was going to be
royally screwed...

A remarkable pic of the Jet Blue nose gear... by
Jay Honeck
See:
http://www.alexisparkinn.com/photogallery/Videos/JB_Nosewheel.jpg
Airbus may not know how to make a landing gear mechanism that works
reliably, but they sure do know how to make it TOUGH. It's hard to
imagine the stresses on that gear as the wheels ground themselves into
oblivion...
