There's something a little curious about this. The banner on your "newsletter" has a message that says, "say no to monopolies...

Passengers in flight at one time by
Scott Summers
Not sure if this is the proper area to post this question - but
someone told me the other day - that at any given time, there are at
least one million passengers on airplanes in the skies.
I thought this number was unusually high. But then I thought about it
and it started to make sense.
Can...

Want to give as a gift. Where can one go for a scenic sailplane ride in

Fear of flying / aviaphobia by
Sue
I am writing a piece on the fear of flying and comical ways that some
people have tried to overcome this. If you have any funny tale you
can share with me, please email me and let me know. If your story is
used in my final article, I will send you a copy before publication.
Thanks for your help.

Fuel efficient freight planes by
Jonas Heisenberg
Hi all.
Looked around a bit for fuel efficient (big, commercial) airplanes.
The best ones I found were the Tupolev TU-330 and the Antonov AN-70.
They had cruising speeds/fuel consumption of 780-850 km/h and 118-125
g/t-km. Now my question: would lowering the cruising speed to e.g.
300-400 km/h...

100 Hour Inspection Question by
FryGuy
I have a question around a 100 hour inspection requirement. I've had time
blocked off at my local FBO for over a month to take a plane this Saturday.
Me and another pilot buddy are taking up the coast of North Carolina and
are going to hit the airports in the Outer Banks and go to the museum...

primary vacuum system which was stc'd for the early Bo's, and I
contacted the widow of

?? Chemistry of fire retardant?? by
vincent p. norris
I read in a recent Av Leak that the stuff fire-bombers drop is a
mixture of phosphate fertilizer and water.
Can anyone tell me how the phosphate functions as a fire retardant?
Is it ammonium phosphate, sodium phosphate, or what?
Thanks. vince norris

GPS 95 XL antenna connection. by
Shlomo Zelkine
I have a Garmin 95XL. The Antenna would not come off the unit.
I opened the unit and found a broken part of the plastic next to the antenna.
That part holds the inner side of the connector so that it will not turn.
Garmin want $150 to check and fix the unit. (they said they will do it
for $75, but...
