I've seen the S-38 named "Osa's Ark," owned by explorers Martin and
Osa Johnson, in a museum somewhere. EAA doesn't list it.
Anyone know where I saw it?
Thanks. vince norris

$100 Gas Voucher by
rvz1fqp4[_3_]
I just discovered this new site that's giving away a $100 gas voucher,
for free!
Can you believe the price of gas these days?
In my area it's currently over $4.75 per gallon, and all signs point
to it going even higher, very soon. I remember the days when gas used
to cost $0.99 per gallon, but...

Looking for a cheap working condition Garmin GPS 100 by
Richardt Human
I have a C172 which is used extensively in a non-profitable flying
school. The C172 has all the necessary avionics for a trainee pilot,
but no GPS. If somebody can assist me with a good second-hand, still
in working consition GPS at a fair price, it will be much appreciated.
Kind regards

Flight Data recorders on a 757 - What data? by
Al Dykes
For a 757, does the data from the radar altimeter get recorded along
with the data from the barometric altimeter?
I assume so, but just want a confirmation

Balloon-assisted jumping by
JumpingMan
Some friends of mine are obsessed with the idea of buying weather
balloons, filling them with helium, attaching them to a harness (with
probably about -3 to -5 lbs of net lift) and jumping up into the air.
If anyone has info on both the feasibility (with implicit danger) and
cost of such an...

One Reporter's Opinion:
Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Flight (1903-2003)
by George Putnam
Friday, Dec. 6, 2002
It is this reporter's opinion that in the hustle and bustle of our busy lives
today, always on a red-eye to somewhere, we take flight all too much for
granted. In commemoration...

Is Moller at it again? by
Chris Wells
There's video of a tethered "flying saucer" in flight, with a typically clueless anchorperson describing it. The company building it is in California, and Annie Anchor said they would only fly 10' off the ground, thereby sidestepping FAA clearance & licensing issues. :) I thought I saw the word...

Telex Stratus 50-D headset? by
Roy Smith
Anybody have a Telex Stratus 50-D headset? Are you happy with it? I've
been promising myself an ANR headset for a long time, and I think I'm
finally ready to pull the trigger. From the reviews I've read, the 50-D
looks like the best thing out there, if a little pricey.
I've been happy with my...

Seeking advice on pilot training approach... by

my pilot's license. I've been doing some thinking about it and have
decided that I need more information from real pilots before I venture
into training.
