Any W&B calculators that work in 640x480 on HP4700 PDA? by
Jose
I am after a simple W&B calculator for a PDA, with a few E6B
calculations (density altitude, say) but nothing else.
Try CoPilot, for the palm. It does more than just w&b, but you don't
have to use it. IT is outstandingly excellent though.

FAA ATA-100 data source by
Paul Tomblin
I used to get my FAA ATA-100 data on a CD from the FAA. But then I moved
and they seemed unable to process a change of address. So then I started
getting it from Kyler Laird's aviationtoolbox.org. But he hasn't updated
to the latest data yet, and it's supposed to be updated today. He's
usually...

why even have windows, re new Boeing Jet by
Rob Mohr
Why even bother to have windows in a commercial jet?
A Boeing press release makes note of the larger than usual windowns
for their new 7E7 jet. Late model jets are full of video screens at
each seat. Why not use snythetic views of the outside? The view from
a window is limited. With video, all...

TV Stations Targeting GA Security to Boost Ratings by
Dan Hoehn
AOPA provides some good pointers:
(AOPA) May 12 - In recent weeks, AOPA has contacted television
stations across the country after being alerted (usually by members)
that they were working on stories about "lax" security at general
aviation airports. The wave of stories is no coincidence: It's the...

Canadian Licence Question by
[email protected]
I am planning on doing my Private Pilot Licence but have a quick
question. Is there a minimum timeframe that all of the flights/written
exam/flight test must be completed in. I recall reading somewhere that
you have 24 months after the application for licence to complete
everything, or is this...

Gotta love the French sense of humor by

PARIS - Police at Paris' top airport lost track of a passenger's bag
in which plastic explosives were placed to train bomb-sniffing dogs,
police said Saturday....
French police said the explosives were harmless and there was no
chance of their going off, since no detonators were connected to...

Flight Following by
Ken Kose
Hi,
I'm a new private pilot and new to this group. I have a question regarding FF. I plan to fly a direct route which will transit class c airspace. If I call "center" and request FF, will they coordinate my flight through class c, or will they hand me off to class c controllers until I'm clear of...

Can anyone tell me which plug it is...?

How about worst looking airliner? by

Of the current crop, I'd say the Beech 1900D. Nose wheel RIGHT at the nose,
the cockpit looks like it's from another plane, as does the passenger door,
all those appendages around the tail...

Interesting aviation story I heard... by

This happened when they were filming The Hunted along the Willamette River
in Portland (been through the set, haven't seen the movie.)
At a nearby airfield--Scapoose, I believe--a guy with a fabric-and-wood
plane was receiving fuel and the attendant asked him...

Expired WAC Charts by
AXA
Does anyone out there have any or all expired WAC charts that they
would like to sell or give away? As I've seen posted before, I'd like
to try and use them as wallpaper.
Thanks in advance,
AXA

Unusual Honeywell KLN94 aviation GPS failure - what could causethis? by
Dave S
I have seen that indication when the antenna did not have a clear view
of the sky.
The installed aircraft was an EADS/Socata TB-9 with gull wing doors.
Coming out of the pad, the pilot's door when up (as it was in the
summer) would obscure much of the sky and not allow the GPS to get a...
