WEIRD!! KX 170B problems by
Charles Talleyrand
My KX-170B has problems.
When I first turn on the com, I can hear airplanes on my side of the
field but not on the far end of the field. After some time everything
turns to normal. I can always transmit just fine.
When I first turn on the nav, I can receive no VORs, but a after a few
minutes...

Weird radio "problem" by
Michael 182
The other day I when I was handed off to a center frequency I got a
continuous "rx", like a stuck mic, on my Garmin 430. I asked about changing
freq, he said he did not have another available. I explained the stuck mic,
and he queried other pilots on the freq, who all reported 5x5. I...

Weight/Balance Cherokee 180 by

I'm sorry, I can't find the initial thread on this subject by a person who
calculated a forward CG on his Cherokee...if I missed the pertinent
newsgroup, would somebody please repost for me?

airplane to be sure we looked up the...

Ben Hallert
Hi there,
Are there any websites for people to find other people interested in
putting together a partnership to purchase airplanes? I've searched on
the obvious terms with no luck.
Thanks!

website for corp. flight standby by
[email protected]
Can anyone direct me to a website that sells unused seats on corporate
jet flights? I saw a notice about it but can't remember where. I have
a friend who's interested in getting a ride from Oregon to Wisconsin
with his golden retriever. They're competing in a national competition
and he's reluctant...

Web site for fuel prices? by
Frode Berg
Hi!
I am going on a vacation in my plane in a couple of weeks down Europe, and
was wondering if there is a web site anywere with current fuel prices at
different airports.
It would be nice if it was sorted by country.

Weatherstripping by
Hankal
My 1973 172 is getting a liitle drafty.
I may replace the weatherstripping around my doors and my two windows. Does not
look like a big job, just time consuming.
Where can I buy the gasket material and the adhesive.
Of course I would not think of replacing it with Non approved parts.
Thanks
Hank...

Wayward Tach by
O. Sami Saydjari
Based on advice from a column I read on AVWEB by John Deakin, I had my
Tach checked since it was in the shop anyay. I was surprised to find
out that it was reading 150 RPM lower than the true RPM. That seems
pretty bad. I said, OK, no problem, just adjust it. No dice. I was
informed that it...

Wax by
zatatime
What type of wax do you use on your airplane? I'd like to stay away
from the standard "carnuba" type waxes because its a royal pain to
buff around all the rivets (its a Cherokee). Any one step polishes
out there that don't require the second buffing step?
This plane has not been waxed in at...

Water in our oil, or just alot of hot air? by
[email protected]
I just watched a program about the huge Oresund bridge between Denmark
and Sweden, and there was a segment about how the corrosion problem for
the bridge was dealt with. Instead of painting, they use sealed
compartments that have the air humidity kept below 60%. This they said
eliminates corrosion....

Water detector by
Paul kgyy
I saw an Ad in TAP this week for a Comanche with a "water in fuel"
detector. Anybody know anything about this - where it resides, how it
works, who sells it?
It seems to me it could be a valuable tool, but a lot would depend on
where the sensor is located.

Watch out for the Brokers by
Dude
Not the plane brokers, the stock brokers.
Their recent strategy, show up to airplane shows and get their hands on all
the cards they can.
I don't know how they got mine, but they left a message saying they had the
research I asked for(?), and that I should call right back.
Now that its happened...
