Continental E-225-4 question by
Jim Carter[_1_]
TTE: 2135
SMOH: 1316
STOH: 16
I realize this is an OLD engine model that will probably have to be switched
to an IO-470 or IO-520, but given these numbers and if it has had no really
long periods of idle time, would you be worried beyond reasonable doubt
about getting another 300 to...

KIP burn salve (Sorta Kinda OT) by
Jim Weir
Back when I was working for the airlines, we used a burn salve called KIP (Kip
Inc, North Hollywood CA) in both the airborne medicine chest and the hangar
toolboxes. It was distributed by an outfit called Swift Laboratories (also in
NH CA).
It is the greatest thing since sliced bread and bottled...

Cirrus and Lancair Make Bonanza Obsolete? by
Potential Bo Buyer
Why is the market for late model V35B's and F33A's so flat. The
economic climate (real and perceived) and 90's run-up have a lot to do
with it, I'll acknowledge that. But there seems to be something else
at work in this market.
Are the Lancair Columbia and Cirrus SR22 substitute products for...

Cessna 150 Price Outlook by
Charles Talleyrand
Anyone want to guess the medium term price trends for a C-150?
By medium term I mean the next five-ish years.
My guess would be "more of the same" meaning increases of a few
percent a year with mild year-to-year variations.
The only effects I can see are whatever's left of the upward...

Aircraft Recovery Dolly by

I need to acquire a dolly capable of recovering a typical general
aviation aircraft with a flat tire.
I would like something that I can just place the flat tire wheel
assembly onto without removing wheel pants or brakes. It also needs
to be capable of being towed up to a mile using only one...

Club Management Issue by
Geoffrey Barnes
First off, I'm not directly involved in this situation, but I am trying to
gain an understanding on how other FBOs and flying clubs deal with something
like it.
One of our club members was flying our 182 -- which the club leases from the
two gentlemen who own it -- and had what appeared to be an...

Piper Commanche vs Money 201 by
O. Sami Saydjari
I am looking at buying one of two planes: a 1978 Mooney M20J or a 1965
Piper Commanche PA-24-260. I have test driven both and I like the
handling of both. Both are about the same price. The avionics in the
Mooney are slightly better. This is a tough choice.

Wind/Solar Electrics ??? by
RST Engineering
After much thought and ponderance, I've come to the conclusion that to
electrify the hangar using Pacific Gas & Electricity (PG&E -- Pigs, Goats,

($5k), trench from the power pole to the end of the row of hangars, conduit

KX170B replacement options by

I have an odd ball digital replacement 170B that is no longer
servicable. Since I already have the 155 and and moving map GPS, I need
a basic, inexpensive, nav/com hole filller for it as #3 radio. I really
like having it there. What type of used equipment is out there that is

I'm curious what others have done, and how its worked for them. I've been
