ASA On Top bug? by
Tim Bengtson
I have been having a problem with ASA On Top that has been driving me
nuts. A short drive, admittedly... Anyway, the compass dial around the
ADF doesn't adjust. That is, you can turn the knob, and the dial will
start to move, but it soon snaps back to its original location. Even
this would be...

Flight Planning software by
PA28Rdrvr
Greetings, I would like to find out which flight planning software is
preferred by readers of this group. I currently use Destination Direct but
need an update. I have been considering switching to Flightsoft. What
would you recommend? I always file IFR when going CC so I use the planner
for...

Instrument Fix Question (student) by
Cecil E. Chapman
How come IAF, FAF, MM, MAP, are all depicted (usually) on the profile view
of an approach chart but the IF (intermediate fix) is not?

Garmin 530 Bearing to fix ? Error ? by
Chuck
Hey there!
It seems to me that when on the FPL page all
of the bearings to fixes entered are bearings
from the previous fix on the entered flight plan.
When ATC asks "what is the bearing to XYZ fix"
if you were to read from the FPL page, that would be incorrect as it
is NOT from your present...

Have you checked into Destination Direct? Runs in Wintel, has
the ability to support most GPS in real-time, has the capability
to display current charts, and supports flight-planning both
VFR and IFR.

Use of hand-held GPS on FAA check ride by
Barry
Mr. Tarver:
You are correct in that it definitely takes a quorum of managers to make a
cogent decision about such things.
Likewise, you are also (probably) correct in that it should not make one
iota of difference whether one wishes to use their hand-held GPS a Robinson
R-22 helicreature or in an...

Air Safety in Jeopardy by
PlanetJ
Air Safety should not go to the lowest bidder. Please contact your
representative and tell them Air Safety is not for sell.
For all of you who fly, remember, it is important enough that your luggage
be screened by federal employees. But apparently NOT important enough that
the people who inspect...

Does anyone own this? I was thinking of using it at home as I start my
instrument training for help with repetative proceedures.
If you own it do you have a recommendation for a Yoke or Joystick?
Thanks in advance.

Oshkosh 2003 photo's are up by
Jay Honeck
If anyone cares to see a few hundred Oshkosh photo's, I put them on my
site..
Great pix, Dennis!
Did you get any aerial shots of the North 40 that you didn't post? I'd sure
like one of our campsite!

IFR Ground Training by

As a soon-to-be-minted private pilot, what are the experiences of

requisite pile of books.
I'm an...

After considerable research, I have pretty much written off adding weather
to my Garmin 530 right now. It looks like the GDL-49 just doesn't do what I
want, and is too susceptable to interference for efficient delivery of
detailed weather, and you have to add another damned VHF antenna (which
would...

Bendix King GPS Updates by

I'm looking for information, feedback, pitfalls of updating Bendix-King

VFR On Top by

I thought that "VFR On Top" requires all of the same reports as regular IFR

environments?
I thought the ONLY time you didn't have to advise ATC of change in altitude
on an IFR clearance was when flying within an assigned vertical...
