Seneca De-Ice Brush Alignment Tool by John
For a Piper Seneca, there is a special tool used to align the prop de-ice brushes. According to API, that tool is no longer available. Is there an A&P out there with one of these plastic jigs in your tool box. If so, can I impose upon you to FAX me a tracing outline of the tool so that I can...

Taking the plunge into ownership. by Wayne
Well, today I put a deposit on an airplane! It's a 1961 C-175B with an upgrade to an O360 with a constant speed prop. What a sweet plane, always hangared with 2268TT. I only will own 1/3 of it, but the other two partners only flew 200 hours in the last three years total. Can't wait to take her out....

Transponder Problem by Jay Honeck
The third digit on my formerly bullet-proof Narco AT-50 transponder has suddenly started displaying incorrectly for ATC. Specifically, it seems to be showing as a "4" on their screens, regardless of what we dial it to in the plane. Thus, instead of squawking "1200" when we're VFR, we're squawking...

Argus 5000CE question by Francois Marquis
Hello, Has anyone have first hand experience with both the Argus 5000 and Argus 5000ce. I know a lot of users have transitioned to the CE, but functionality-wise they are about the same. (minus the color, of course) My biggest issue is that I sometime deplore the contrast of my 5000 unit,...

Air Gizmos GPS panel mounts by Brock Boss
We've recently purchased one of the Air Gizmos mounts for our Garmin 296. I've seen it installed in another Cessna and spoken with the owner who says no field approval is needed for this product. Our A&P, who is a stickler for the rules(and rightly so if you ask me), says this product requires a...

A36 Pilot Headroom by Nathan Young
I am looking at pruchasing an A36. I am 6'3" with a fair amount of my height in my torso. I sat in the A36 and found that my head hit the ceiling, even without a headset. I found this interesting, as I have fit in every plane I've flown. Most of my time is in Sundowner, Cherokee 180, Seneca...

Got one plane back, sort of by Viperdoc[_4_]
Went to pick up my Baron today, and was given a ride in my buddy's turbine Bonanza (a great plane made even better). Cruised at 17,000! OK, so I picked up my plane with the new Garmin 530W/430W installation, which worked great. They communicate with each other, and the info displays are much...

High Voltage Light On (Temporarily) by three-eight-hotel
I recently took a flight that brought me back in the late evening hours, and in a hurry, I was a little remiss in my checklist of securing the plane after shutdown. Landing light, taxi light, strobes, beacon, nav lights and transponder were all left on, but the master was shut off. A few days...

Cleaning (de-bugging) your airplane? by [email protected]
What does everyone use to de-bug their planes? I want to be honest with everyone, I started a company that makes a cleaner but I don't want to use this area to advertise I just want to see what everyone is using.

CHT recommendations by Dude
I had an odd thought while flying yesterday. Traditionally, we have had CHT info on one cylinder. Now, many planes have monitors that tell us all 4 or 6 cylinders. I have been trying to keep all my cylinders under 400 as I believe most of us are doing. However, I had a thought about that...

Prop Cable - Replacement Needed by zatatime
Hi, I own a 1967 Cherokee 235B and am in need of a prop cable. Does anyone know where I might be able to find a PMA'd new one, or a salvage company that may have one? I've tried Aircraft Spruce, and McFarlands and neither have a PMA'd cable for early Pipers as well as a couple salvage company's...

Vaccuum Pressure Gauge by Al
Now that its cold again, my vacuum pressure gauge is acting up (again). In the past, when it was cold, it would take a few minutes to come up to the correct reading. Now, it takes about 30 to 40 minutes to come up. All dials are OK, and when the gauge comes up, it reads in the normal range. Any...
