Refuting blackbird folklore by
frank wight
There was a time when I thought that
the blackbird could secretly hit 5 on the
mach meter--but isn't there solid science
agains this? Such as:
I don't think the engines have the ability
to rev up to such a speed. Maybe the jet fuel
itself cannot produce sufficent BTU's (thrust)
to propel it that...

tricycle undercarriage by
G. Stewart
From late WW2 onwards, many aircraft designs started using the
tricycle undercarriage scheme. Prior to this, most used the other one
(you know, two large wheels up in front, with the plane tilted back
onto a small support wheel).

Helicopter Questions by
MCN
Hello,
I was reading that during the Vietnam War two helicopters were downed by
MiGs, one was a HB-53B which was downed by a MiG-21 on 28 Jan 1970, but I
can't find much info about the other. All I found so far was a "UH-1 during
1971" on the ACIG-site. Has somebody here more info?
