Horsepower required for level flight question... by
BllFs6
Hi all...
Was reading about a glider the other day....
It has something like a sink rate of 125 feet per minute at a 400 pound total
wieght when its going about 35 mph...
Now given that 1foot pound/sec = .00182 HP and the glider is being powered by
gravity....

In the past I've posted info on Bob Barrows' homebuilt tailwheel

the Bearhawk email list just posted some detail pictures of the one he
had built which I thought that some readers here might find...

In-Flight Video by

Bought a digital video camera a week ago; fabricated a mount and installed
it on the Fly Baby's axle tube this weekend. Here's a quick snippet from a
30-minute flight I took yesterday.

Free plans? Open source plans? by
Oliver Arend
The first question is really simple: Are there any free plans for
homebuilt aircraft on the web? It should have an engine and be able to
carry a person, apart from that I'm just interested in seeing what's
out there, if any...
The second question/idea is a bit far out: Are there any "open...

Continental A-65 Price by
Hey all,
I'm starting a homebuilt project (obtained partially completed) and was
wondering what kind of price I'm looking at for a Continental A-65 with a
couple hundred hours left on it. How about an overtime engine?
Thanks,
-Tony

Weight of a Harley Evo / Twin-cam 88 for aircraft? by
Wright1902Glider
Anyone know what this type of engine weighs? I know that hog-air claims 200
lbs, but that's with a starter, PSRU (PRSU?), exhaust, etc. I'm wondering what
the engine itself weighs with its standard starter, and nothing else. Any
bikers in here have a spare engine and a scale?
My much-discussed...

One coat paint for aluminum? by
[email protected]
Howdy,
I'm building a Savannah, and I want to keep the weight down. I'm only
planning to paint some odd shapes on the plane and leave the rest bare
aluminum. Since the plane is a simple, crude little creature, I can't see
spending a bunch of time and money on these paint accents.
So my question...

1999 Arlington crash jury award by
Kevin Davidson
This one really has me bothered: 1999 NWEAA Arlington Fly-in, pilot in RV-6
rushes departure at high angle of attack, crashes, dies in the ensuing fire.
His survivors sue EAA and NWEAA claiming the fire crews didn't get there
soon enough. The stated claims don't even agree with the NTSB...

Searching information about Mike Fisher by
PitCock
Hello NG,
I'm searching information about the Culex, a twin engined homebuilt.
Thats why I try to contact Mike Fisher, who developed the culex.
He worked at WACOKIT, Ohio last.
His former partner told me, he doesn't work for WACOKIT anymore and
moved to Colorado Silverton (or nearby).
He wasn't...
