W. D. Allen
What type approach did Japanese pilots use for landing on carriers during
WWII? Have any other countries since WWII used other than paddles or mirror
type approaches? If so what was their technique?

WW2 story about Iwo Jima airplane repairs by
Ron
Once I read a story about an American officer who complained to his superior about the way things were handled on the airfields of
Iwo Jima. He thought that repairs to bombers returning from missions over Japan could be done much better and faster. The superior -
not in a mood for a discussion -...

WW II VP question by
Allen Epps
All,
Doing a little research for a friend of mine who is looking to get a
print customized for his father. His father was a first class PO in
1944 as a radar instructor in PBY's at NAS Jax. Any thoughts as to what
squadron this might be and if they would have any different markings
than the typical...

WW II Hellcat & Fabric Covered Stab. Why ? by
Bob
Hello,
Saw a video on the WW II Hellcat, and on the walk-around it was
mentioned that the Stab. was fabric covered.
Not sure if anything else was.
Really surprised.
Why did they use fabric on the Stab. ?

WW II - Diesel birds? by
Cougar
Somebody on another forum was trying to convince people that
because of the gasoline shortages during WW-II that there were
quiet a few aircraft that actually used diesel fuel.
I know that people are playing with that today, but was it
really used in aviation back then?
Thanks,
Coug

WTB: Rolls Royce Gnome Maintenance Manual by
Larry
I'm trying to locate a Maintenance Manual for the Rolls Royce Gnome H1200
MK610 engine. I prefer paper format, but at this point I'm real choosy.
Do you have one you're willing to sell? Or maybe reproduce it if I cover the
costs?
If not, do you know where I can get one?
Thanks!
