Engine doesn't make minimum static rpm by Bob Fry
Aircoupe Alon A2 with C90 engine with two props, one 48" pitch and the other 52". It doesn't make the static runup RPM minimums with either one, for instance the 48" prop should be 2225 to 2325 rpm, I averaged out to 2162 rpm. Likewise the 52" prop falls short 100 rpm or more. Three years ago...

A bit of aviation history - 16 December 1936 by Seppo Sipilä
Here is a bit of aviation history. 67 years ago, on 16 December 1936 in Finland, Helsinki Airport at Malmi was first opened to traffic. Helsinki-Malmi Airport is possibly the best-preserved still active international airport left in the world from the pre-WWII era. The milieu of this...

Only official instrument approaches authorised under FAR? by Roy Smith

Any ADC vets here? Question about SAGE by ShawnD2112
I recently discovered a beuatiful little treasure in the form of a National Geographic from Sept 65, the majority of which is a huge article on the US Air Force at the time. The opening article was written by Gen LeMay who had just retired. It was SAC's glory days, there were 800,000 people in...

Brokerage fees - industry standard? by sue t
I've been scanning the 'net to get an idea of an average brokerage fee for an aircraft (1968 Cherokee 140) valued in the $20,000 to $25,000 range. My expectation would be advertising the aircraft and acting as initial point of contact. The aircraft would need to be sold from my home base, not...

Anyone have PIREPs about this product? Does it contain approaches that we can study while not yet flying and on the ground? What's your overall take on it. Jay, is this the one you use?

Citabria Pro (N5143T) ? by joerg
The current condition and location of the aircraft are unknown. A recent search of the FAA N number database list the Pro's N number (N5143T) as reserved, with no aircraft assigned to the number. A search of the NYSB aviation accident database can find no accident involving N5143T. Does anybody...

US pilot flying in Australia? by Roy Smith
I'm toying with the idea of a trip to Australia for a few weeks. What's involved in renting a plane there with a US pilot's license? Is it possible?
