Nellis on the blocks? by
ArtKramr
Not likely. Just came from Nellis and spoke to a Colonel. He said they are
pouring tens of millions into expansions, additions and improvements in almost
every area. I think Nellis will be around for a while.

France Bans the Term 'E-Mail' by
bsh
PARIS - Goodbye "e-mail", the French government says, and hello
"courriel" — the term that linguistically sensitive France is now using
to refer to electronic mail in official documents.
The Culture Ministry has announced a ban on the use of "e-mail" in all
government ministries, documents,...

Greatest Altitude without pressure cabin/suit by
W. D. Allen Sr.
44,000 ft altitude means only about 1/7 of the atmospheric
pressure at sea level. So it's hard to believe a person
could maintain consciousness without oxygen pressure
equipment to get to 49,500 feet.
With half the atmosphere below 18,000 feet the U. S.
military requires oxygen masks above 15,000...

Tornado vs Mirage 2000 in offensive counter-air role by
LoveBug
Which fighter is better in offensive counter-air role?
As I understand it, both Tornado F2/F3 and Mirage 2000C/5F were
designed more or less as bomber interceptors, not as a dedicated air
superiority fighter like F-15A/C.
After the end of Cold War, they had to adapt to new roles in...

I have been looking at some photos of the GR.4 recently and the gun

- presumably some sort of sensor or designator. Can anyone confirm
that the guns have been removed?

The importance of being in Marauders by
ArtKramr
THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING IN MARAUDERS
When we were all in cadet school at Big Spring, what we talked about most was
what type of aircraft we would be assigned to; B-17, B-24, B-25, A-20 or the
grand prize of all; the fast, hot B-26 Martin Marauder. As the term went on and
we approached graduation...

Over the years, I have come across various stories, tales told in

The reasons for the burial vary, from the burial taking place during
the Battle of...
