[email protected]
Can someone please explain to me why the XCSOAR for android program always uses the serial id of "AAA" in the filenames for the .igc file it creates?
From page 18 of the 31 May 2019 IGC GNSS FR Technical Specification:
Long file name: 2015-06-17-MMM-XXX-02.IGC

Trailer plans by
Geoff Minors
Looks like the trailer for my Open Cirrus is falling apart from its trip across Canada!!
I am thinking I should build a new trailer myself which I have no problem with.
Are there any plans out there I can purchase or scrounge? Thinking of a clam type shell trailer.
Thank for help.

C) $30,000+
D) $40,000+
E) $50,000+
What if I would say (hypothetically): the wings are sanded (not stripped) and painted. It has no seat cushions, no...

Looking to renew my CFIG on line. Have done the ones where it is all
focused on CFI for power pilots. Have found none that are designed
specifically for glider instuctors. Anyone know of any?
Thanks

In-flight icing by
Bill D
Some may find this interesting.
Today as I drove home in a snowstorm, three large objects fell from the sky onto the street in front of me. I stopped to see what they were. They turned out to be three metalized Mylar toy balloons encased in ice!
Darned kids probably didn't get a weather...

Question for the Moriarty, NM locals:
Is there a parachute rigger available at the field or in the area who is familiar with chutes used in gliders, i.e. who can repack a chute 'lump-free'?

Andrzej Kobus
I bought this variometer for Christmas to install it in my current glider, but since then I took advantage of an opportunity to upgrade my glider and I will not be installing this unit. The price is significantly below current pricing at $3100.

Kevin Christner's question about unplanned releases from tow... by
Bill Nockles
Hello Ken,
In 51 years of soring I have had two unplanned terminations from a tow.
Both took place in the 70's.
In 1973 while on tow in a Std Libelle the tow rope quietly released from
the nose hook (Tost). I had done nothing to precipitate this release ...no
hand on the release, no banging the...
