Learning To Fly? by
John
Hi All,
Firstly apologise if this is not the correct group to post to (My first time
;0)
I'm thinking about taking up flying and have found a few schools in the US
that seem quite resonable (for price and facilities). They offer several
courses - i've narrowed it down to two: 'PPL Private Pilot...

Mexico-Clubs or Private Owners? by
Chris
Greetings... I may be moving soon to Mexico City, and I want to be
able to keep flying.
If there are any Mexico experts out there, I have these questions:
-- If I am residing in Mexico, can I continue renting and flying
aircraft with my U.S. certificate?
-- How difficult would it be to get a...

Oil and the Future by
Bob Fry
Nice series in the Chicago Trib. Sure, it's written as doom-n'-gloom
entertainment rather than dry facts and analysis, but they gotta sell
papers. Does make one wonder about our own (general aviation) future.
Note: As a courtesy to r.a.p., and against all tradition, followups
have been...

Maytag Store, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Rt. 309 by
Fatboy Jr.
To anyone from the northeastern part of Pa., in the town of
Wilkes-Barre, a message (non Pontiac oriented)
BEWARE- AVOID the Maytag appliance store on Rt. 309 by Home Depot, in
Wilkes-Barre. The guy that owns it is a major jerk, he talked me into a
$110 gas flow valve for my Magic Chef stove, and...

Bank of America buying MBNA by
Dave Reinhart
You may have seen in the news that Bank of America has announced its
intention to purchase the credit card business of MBNA. Why bring this
up in a flying forum? Because MBNA provides a lot of the financial
services to AOPA members.
I've been trying to avoid doing business with B of A for almost...

Going to Negril, Jamaica from 8/15 - 8/22. Looking for an FBO where I
can rent a piston single to fly around the island. Understand it will
probably have to be with an instructor. I've done a Google search and
emailed TimAir. Called Wings Jamaica but their number is no longer
good. Any...
