FG gas tanks. by
in limbo
I have seen FG gas tanks. What and how are these made? Does one
neeed to line the insides for it to be gas compatible? What about the
fittings and the cap and vent set up? Does anyone have a pictured and
or detailed build up?

Treating rust on tube interior? by
Michael Horowitz
I can twist and turn various tubular parts on my restoration project
and hear rust rolling down the tube.
Assuming there is no serious corrosion, how is this treated? Does one
make any attempt to remove rust from these sealed tubes or simply
inject boiled linseed oil (etc.), slosh, drain? - Mike

At Dinner Barnaby Wainfan's 5 year old daughter was overheard saying

Help needed understanding turbojets
Horsepower is defined/measured as 550 foot pounds per second. ie,
lifting 1 pound 550 feet every second is 1 hp. If you lift 550 pounds one foot
every second and keep that going for 12 hours or so every day, you are a
horse....

BD-5 or similar? by
Mark Zivley
I've been to the bd-micro web site. I'm not really that serious about starting
on that sort of a project, but it sure looks like fun. Just wondering if there
are any other kits out there which are mostly aluminum and perhaps a bit more
forgiving in the air.
Thanks,
Mark

Aircraft Designations by
David Townend
The second printing of "Military Aircraft Designations and Systems" is still
available. We were out of print soon after our October 2002 printing so it
is good to have copies available again. We are also able to hold the
original price, too. Military Aircraft designations
catalogued from 1913 to...

Jiggery-Tackery by
Michael Horowitz
I'm practicing making joints.
I built a simple jig to hold two pieces of tubing parallel and about
6" apart and have notched and placed a third piece of tubing,
connecting the two parallel pieces at 60*
To minimize warpage from the heat (I'm using gas) I know I should tack
one side of the joint,...

Starfighters F-104 airshow by
Tedstriker
Does anyone know if the Starfighters F-104 airshow team is still
flying? I heard Delashaw was killed in a Hawker Hunter, but am not
sure if anyone else is flying the '104 in his place. It was neat to
see that show, but it's obvious the plane is a poor airshow performer.
They spent most of the time...
