Wireless at Osh by
John T
This has been a recurring topic with no clear answers.
I say, hoof it over to the hilton. They have wireless for their guests.
There is no sign on page, but I have no idea what their range is.

Two non-aviation questions by
Ramapriya
1. If the principles of flight are universally applicable, why is it
that birds don't stall or spin? I wonder especially because I'm sure
I've seen some gulls hover in mid-air doing pretty much nothing except
having their wings spread!
2. We know it's possible for an aircraft to fly at angle to...

AOPA supports cell phones in GA aircraft by
Cub Driver
From the Aero-News Propwash newsletter this morning:
AOPA Lobbies Congress For Cell Phones In GA Cockpits
Aviation Advocacy Group Says The Time Is Now
General aviation pilots should be
able to use cell phones in the cockpit while they're airborne. And
they should be able to do it now. That's what...

Helicopter Question by
Jay Honeck
As we were flying over to Newton, IA today, we started discussing icing and
snow -- something that we must constantly worry about in these parts for at
least the next 4 months.
As we were talking, we heard a "Flight for Life" 'copter on Unicom, which
got us to wondering how it is that these guys...

Charging for Wings safety seminar? by
Marty Shapiro
I local flying club advertised a Wings safety seminar for which they
would charge $30. This was done in an message to a distribution list for
local area pilots. Interestingly, if one went to the FAASafety.gov web
pages and noticed this seminar, there was no mention of a charge, and one
could sign...

9/11 Smoking Gun! Flight 93 Rare News Footage From The Crash Site by
Dudley Henriques
I usually will pass on posts like this one, but I'm left with this horrible
feeling that somehow, an absolute idiot who is stupid enough to actually
believe something like this might have somehow squeezed through the system
somewhere and be flying an airplane in the same sky and endangering people...

Has anybody been watching the new TV shoe, "Jericho" on CBS Wed. nights?
It is about a small town in northern Kansas, after nuclear devices have

Mass Production of Aircraft by
[email protected]
We could have inexpensive aircraft. They do not violate the laws of
physics. However it probablly does violate laws of human nature.
You must have, first, a large potential market. Consider: Wichita.
In the benighted Kingdom of Sedgwick, no one flies. The overwhelming
vast majority of aircraft...

Green Arc Red Zone by

Jack Allison's discussion of the Hartzell AD for his Arrow has gotten me
to thinking.
What aircraft do you fly/have you flown/do you have first hand knowledge
of which have a red zone somewhere in the green arc of the tachometer?
For example, I know there are/were certain models of Cessna 210's...

Quick question about an incident which happend today by
Chris
Hi everyone,
I have a question for people who fly in CT, and NY often. Today I was
flying from Danbury (DXR) to Brookhaven (HWV). I flew out without incident.
Coming home I flew from Brookhaven direct to Calverton then to Bridgeport
then direct Danbury using a combination of my sectional chart and...
