Wing dihedral by
Dallas
Would anyone care to comment on the accuracy of this illustration of how
wing dihedral works from a 1981 Jeppesen Sanderson book.

The accompanying statement reads:
"When an aircraft with dihedral rolls so that one wind is lower than the
other, the lower wing...

consistent. Requiring walk in voters to show photo id...

Gene Whitt's Lawsuit by
drrobb@no_spam_yahoo.com
Anyone have a link to or a copy of the lawsuit Gene Whitt filed
against the airport that stopped freelance CFI's from operating from
there. My local airport is attempting the same thing and I'm
gathering information for the freelance CFI's I know..

The Failure of FAA Diversity by
FAA Civil Rights
I guess the Diversity workforce in the FAA is working great
huh??
I believe the first video mentions the word "Incompetency"
The same word I was chastised for using a few years ago by
FAA Management
Maybe I was just a little ahead of my time perhaps?

Happy Winter Solstice Day! by
N2310D
Winter is finally, officially here. I was going to celebrate with an
hour or so of just tooling up and down the Owens Valley with a vague idea of
shooting a couple landings at Mammoth Airport (KMMH) provided the runway was
clear. Alas, time and a deflated nose gear strut permits not.

Advancement of prop blade in flight, new information by
Corky Scott
Sorry, I got my information wrong when I stated that a three bladed
prop advanced 15 inches during each revolution at 200 mph.
I now have the article in front of me and the exact quote is as
follows: "At 200 mph and 2,800 rpm, the blades on my three-plade prop
follow three distinct helical paths...

Canyon Turns by
Marc Lattoni
I found a new rental opportunity at CYBW (Springbank, Alberta) with a brand
new 172SP the other day and today went out for a Mountain check ride with
the chief CFI.
Now, I did two mountain courses over the past 18 months - one with my
original training outfit and one with the local flying club....

Tried to Call it "Runway 7" today... by
Jay Honeck
After all the talk about not using "leading zeros" when making radio calls
referring to runways, I tried my darndest to omit those offending zeros
today.
To my surprise and dismay, my mouth has apparently developed an "autopilot"
mode that seemed to prohibit even the simplest changes to my rote...

Flying into NYC for Thanksgiving Day Parade by
John Doe
Hello all,
I was thinking about flying the family up to NYC to see the Thanksgiving Day
Parade.
Anyone recommend an airport to fly in to?
I would rather not rent a car, just get into town somehow and then the walk
or cab it while in the city.

Warning: 25' wide, 1800' long by
Andrew Gideon
I was circling over N85 in my partnership's non-retractable 182,
considering landing. Someone had just landed there (on runway 26). He
suggested that I might want to consider 31, given the wind direction, if I
was "up to it".
"Up to it"?
I've landed at N85 a few times, but never on this...

Presidential TFRs -- AUGH! by
Jay Honeck
Sure -- the ONE time in my life I want to fly to Superior, WI, in the middle
of absolutely no where Wisconsin, to visit the Bong Museum (BOTH kids are at
camp -- heh, heh) -- and the President of the United States chooses TODAY to
visit Duluth, MN.
Right across the bridge from Superior...

LOUD by
Scott Lowrey
I reside about 6 miles off the departure end of MSP runway 12, so I'm
used to hearing a lot of jet traffic. I've only lived here for 6
months but I quickly adjusted to the noise. It's acutally not that
bad, excepting the venerable DC-9.
Today, though, what looked like an F-18 flew over. Wow. I...
