annual - hartzell AD by
Doug Vetter
Hi all,
With the recent topics on Annuals hitting the group, I figured I'd
relate my own, indulge myself in a short rant, and ask a question of you.
Just got the call from our A&P today and our 172 w/180HP Avcon
Conversion came through the annual in pretty good shape. Unfortunately,
we did...

twin comanche by
E Andersen
Hi guys
I'm still searching for a twin comanche, there is quite a lot available
here in Florida for around 70-80k, it looks
to me that most do not have an autopilot, would this be a concern of yours?
What about installing an autopilot, is
that way to expensive, or should I go up in price a...

Intercom question by
Stephen Ahrens
Hi All,
I have been lurking here for some time now and enjoy some of the very
interesting threads that take place.
Jay always seems to come up with something interesting.
Now I have a question and I hope some of you experienced people don't mind
wading in.
I own a Piper ArcherII PA28-181.
In all...

Selling my airplane by
Dan Luke
I've decided to sell '87D (anyone interested can see it on
rec.aviation.marketplace).
Whether I'll buy another airplane is uncertain, but right now I'm doubtful.
There are just too many negatives associated with owning an airplane in the
Mobile area -- principally hangar and mechanic problems. ...

TIS traffic audio callouts by
No Spam
The TIS traffic audio (e.g., "TRAFFIC NOT AVIALABLE") has quit on my GTX
330/CNX80/MX20 airplane. It worked fine until recently and the configuration
set up on the 330 or 80 may have been inadvertently changed. The data
displays correctly on the MX20 and the audio tests correctly via the GTX...

Nose Strut O-Ring Was Bad... by
Jay Honeck
Last week, in -22 temperatures, our nose gear drooped all the way to
the stop. Later, we were able to put some down pressure on the
stabilator (in the hangar) and bring it back up a couple of inches,
but made plans to have our A&P look at it.
Yesterday, since he wasn't coming in the shop till...

Flight Review in a turbo twin by
chad
I own a turbo Cessna 310 and I'm wondering if other turbo twin owners
do their biennial flight review in their aircraft. Is single engine
work required for a flight review if done in a twin? I'm concered
that doing the review in my aircraft may be hard on the engines,
specifically the turbos. ...

egt cht by
dave
I'd like to add an electronic six probe egt/cht to my bonanza. The
three usual candidates with similar products are
Electronics-international, JPI and Insight. Some have better features
than others but all do what I need. I don't need to save data for
future reference. Dynon and MGL...

faster 182? by
Dan Luke
Got a demo flight in a new Skylane Saturday morning. Very nice airplane.
The G1000 stuff was a bit bewildering at first but otherwise it flew just
like any good 182...
....except for one thing: it trued 147 knots! Non-turbo at 5,500 feet, 10 deg.
C OAT, 135 KIAS. Wow! That is 10 knots...

Stall warning switch for Cessna 206? by
[email protected]
We need to replace the stall warning switch on our Cessna-206.
Cessna wants over $1100 for what is a $5 Honeywell Micro Switch
#7834, some metal face plates and "certification".
I've tried Air Parts and several other online parts houses.
Other suggestions?
Used is OK!

Very long shot, I know, but - does anyone have any schematic or any
documentation whatsoever on a pilot controller runway light controller,
Model BX-2, made by Subil Enterprises, Inc., Des Moine, IA 50317? Can't
find any current address or phone number for that company. Unit was likely
made...

JPI Data Question by
Jim Burns
I'm studying the JPI data from my recent trip to Key West and back to
Wisconsin. One thing stands out.
A sudden drop of 60 degrees EGT and rise of 30 degrees CHT on one cylinder
while all other cylinders remain rock solid stable.
After an extended period of idling at KEYW waiting for a...

looking at two new props with deice boots, 15k times two. can get some
new blades and use the old hubs but I am thinking it's best just to be

WAAS info by
Paul kgyy
I just had the new Garmin 430W installed in my Arrow. Cost of the
exchange from my older 430 was $2500. Labor to install new antenna and
cable plus tax came to $650. It also included testing of existing
connections on my old unit with GPSS and the EDM700 fuel totalizer.
This also includes a...
