air humidity by
Corrie
It's not humidity, per se, but visible moisture that's the risk
factor. You don't need a gague to detect that.

Thanks by
jls
To everyone who sent so many courteous and helpful answers to my query on
Phillips head screws.
I just found a helpful Google Groups answer to my question on rebuilding an
old Cessna fuel selector. It doesn't stop the flow but will with new
O-rings. Ain't this just the grandest newsgroup ever...

Accident Statistics: Certified vs. Non-Certified Engines by
Ron Wanttaja
A while back, I posted the result of a cursory look at the accident
statistics for aircraft powered by auto engine conversions. It *was* an
awful shallow pass, and at the time I promised to look into the issue
deeper.
I have since obtained the NTSB accident databases for the years 1998,...

OT - Statue of Liberty reopening B.S! by
Bart D. Hull
What is with this crap that they need to raise 5 million to
reopen the Statue of Liberty? Talk about ransom and terrorism
and our government is the source again!
The park service doesn't make enough with the fees they charge?
Talk about seriously ****ing people off. (Including me!)
Sorry, had to...

AiirVenture Video Charges by
Paul Dowgewicz
I know I'm only talking $1.50 here, but when I ordered the 2003
AirVenture DVD, the form says $24.99 plus $5.00 shipping and handling.
The Dec. 2 charge from EAA is $31.49, even though the form says my
credit card will be billed at time of shipment, and it didn't arrive
until after Christmas.
Did...

Now that's not nice, Just for your information at age 26, I had 2
children, a house, motor home , 2 new cars and an airplane. Just cause
someone doesn't want to spend a lot of money and sets a budget for his
recreation tells me he is wise for his years and financially responsible. No
way does...

Wingdrop while stalling by
drake
Hi,
there is a HAL HPT-32 (pistonengined 2 seater trainer light a/c)
which, when attempting a stall, does not pitch down correctly. Instead
one of the wings (either port or starboard (50/50)... no gyro problems
due to engine) almost always drops, and this genreally results in the
a/c entering a...

WOW! I had no idea this thread would be so productive! Here is the list,
compiled from all of your posts. As you can see, some are more complete
than others. If anyone can add some of the missing information, please do
so!
For example, some people didn't post what STATE their suggested museum...

Tube Cluster Weld Question by
Dick
Other than a weight consideration, what concern is there with replacing a
typical fuselage tube cluster (all legs in the same geometric plane) with a
half circle plate where the slotted end legs are slide onto and then welded?
Kind of like a bridge with it's clip angles on I-beams. Then the...

Tubing strength by

Does anyone have a reference that quotes the strength of streamline

if I had a...

Hello,
This is the first time I have been to this newsgroup. What are the rules
regarding mentioning ("advertising") of aircraft-related services? I don't
want to offend anyone.

Anyone have any info on the lanier paraplane(and the II version)? 20 mph
landing speed and a 150 mph cruise seems a lot like the claims on the
infomercials for kitchen gadgets. TIA Pat

Free Roland XY Plotter by
Jim Weir
I have a relatively ancient Roland single-pen XY plotter (B-size, or 11" x 17")
that has been sitting in the hangar wrapped in plastic for at least 15 years.
It was at one time the top of the line and is accurate as you can make the pen
line. It uses india-ink pens, and as I recall, you can use a...

Need Cox Engines by
Alan
I am looking for Cox model engines. I prefere the .049 sizes, any condition,
ones with medal tanks are best (they can take a beating where-as the
plastics just bust), but any and all sized coxes will do. I am building
several small 1/2a planes for a group kids and need the...
