Laptop GPS and airspace by
Marty from Sunny Florida
I use a navman GPS with a few mapping utilities, my favorite being MS
Streets and Trips. Has anyone added sectional data to software designed for
road travel (ie. aviation map in tiff form overlayed over the standard map)?
Any suggestions would be appreciated ....

Does someone know of a place on the internet to obtain sample bylaws and
share certificates for an airplane partnership? We have an active

Bendix King KMA20 - Stuck mike open. by
Roy Page
I had a "mike stuck open" problem on my 1977 Piper Archer.
The PTT switch tests out fine and seems that the KMA20 audio panel is the
culprit.
I worked all the front panel switches many times and the problem has gone
away for the moment.
The mike unstuck as I was working the Marker Hi Lo switch
I...

Alternator swap, Pitts S-1 by
SHAWN DOYLE
Hello!
I've got an expensive opportunity on the go. My electrical generation
system failed in the Pitts a couple of weeks ago. Had to get jump started
at Le Touquet to come back across the Channel, then again at Lydd to get
home. Not fun, I can tell you, but folks were immensely helpful at...

Tachometer or Tach Cable by
Rich
I've got a problem that seems to be cold-weather related, and I'm trying
to determine whether it is more likely the tachometer or the tach cable.
Happened a couple of times last spring, and once last week when we had
a cold snap in Michigan.
On the ground, I hear what sounds like an intermittant...

General purpose cleaner/degreaser? by
Jim Burns
What do you use on your plane's exterior as a general purpose spray
cleaner/degreaser for quick and easy cleaning of greasy finger prints and
oil drips, drops, and spots? I don't want to use anything that will hurt
the paint, aluminum, or rubber.
Thanks again,
Jim

Ceconite Wings Question by
Captain Wubba
Hello. I'm considering purchasing a plane that has Ceconite wings.
They were recovered last year professionally, and according to an A&P
I asked to have a quick look, were done well and correctly, and have a
UV protectant. My question is the following: I don't have access to a
hanger. This plane...

what a trip...what a plane! (long) by
The Weiss Family
I just got back last night from picking up my first plane.
It's a Beech Super III, A23-24.
I think planes are like kids: mine is better looking, smarter, etc...
Anyone else feel that way ;-)
I flew down to Dallas from Minden, NV on Friday.
On Friday evening when I got there, the weather was nice,...

Amphibian/floatplane insurance? by
C Kingsbury
Howdy,
Curious as to what people are paying to insure waterbirds- I'm a low-time
PPL-ASEL/S-IR and would like to someday get to use that "Sea" rating a
little more often. As it is now I do have the opportunity to build some solo
time in a 172 floatplane up in Maine but that's a 4-hour drive from...

I Want My Own Bird by
Yeah_right
I really want to make a good decision on this so, I'm giving myself plenty
of time, two years, to get my ducks lined up. I've want either an Archer or
an Arrow with an IFR package.
I've started looking at and pricing hanger space at selected airports in the
Houston area where it'll be based. ...

Fiberglass Wheel Pants Supplier? by

The plastic wheel pants on our 1979 Piper Warrior 161 got so worn that we
had to trash them. We are having trouble finding a supplier of approved
fiberglass replacements. Anyone know of any dealers??

CFI logging requirement by
[email protected]
I've got a question regarding CFI's logging instruction time that I can't seem
to find in the FAR's. Basically, what constitutes "instruction" for a CFI of a rated
pilot? Aside from primary training or non-category/class rated pilots, the CFI can
provide simply instruction while flying. Here's...

t-hangar and ice by
Bob Noel
In preparation for winter, I have a question.
the situation: T-hangar with bi-fold doors. Run-off from the roof
collects in front of the hangar door (because the tarmac doesn't
slope away from the hangar - in fact there is a slight dip in
front of the hangar). In the winter, water collects and...
