nj to new england by
chris
Are there any pilots out there who fly frequently to New England from
New Jersey. I am not a pilot yet, but have taken some lessons. I love
general aviation and small planes. I travel often to New England from
NJ (Teterboro area) and I would love to find a friend or partner who
also travels to...

ADF Problem by
Al[_2_]
The ADF in our Cessna 172 isn't working right. Yes, we can receive the
audio but the indicator only swings through 180 degrees on the indicator
(from 180 to 360) and doesn't point in the direction of the transmitter.
We tried repalcing the indicator with no improvement. Can someone...

Next club purchase... by
Robert Barker
Our club currently flies a 172R and 172SP as trainers and a Diamond DA40 as
our 3rd plane. We've put tons of students thru our 172s and are finally
getting some good usage on our Diamond. We've started "long distance"
planning on our next planes. We'd like to get a good low wing trainer like...

About time -- Comanche 250 by
Tony
Well we finally went and paid for our new bird. A 1964 Comanche 250.
After months of deciding to buy it or get a small plane. We went down as
they were doing the annual on it. All turned out good. All compression
72/80 with only 10 hours on the plane in the last year. Our first
projects a Paint,...

As a non pilot just intrested in this group temporarily, you may flame
me for this post.
The guy who said you don't scare the... um... 'pax' has it exactly
right.
I hear what you all are saying about fatigue and those are all real good
points. But here's the reality... if that had been me, I...

Another cause of nosewheel shimmy by
Roger Long
We have a shop that's proved that shimmy isn't inevitable in Cessnas, as
other shops have tried to tell me in the past.
The nose gear started to shimmy after 18 months solid as a rock. Turned out
to be water in the wheel, trapped between the two halves and acting like a
wheel weight.
How it got...

Plug in voltmeter by
Bob
I'm looking for some advice on a voltmeter (preferably digital) that
will plug into the "cigarette lighter" of my airplane. I found one on
the J. C. Whitney site, but $50 is too much for what I want to use it for.
I've got a JPI analyzer which reads voltages off the avionics bus, and
also a...

fuel leak or auxiliary fuel pump malfunction? by
[email protected]
From time to time pilots have observed fuel stains on the nosewheel
wheelpant of our club's 172SP. The only time I have actually seen fuel
dripping from the engine was when I watched a pilot turn the auxiliary
fuel pump on for what seemed to me to be an excessively long period of
time. The fuel...

Best price Aeroshell 10W-50W? Where to buy from? by
Paul Millner
P L E A S E get me a
stock number. If I can get that, my local Sam's might be able to
order it from distribution.
Sams in Concord, CA used to have 15-50, I know they have 100. I'll look
next time I'm over there, and write down the number.

prop seal by
Jim Burns
Well, after only putting 12 hours on our Aztec since our annual, we've got a
bad prop seal on our left prop. The prop shop is overbooked until OSH is
over, so we've got it scheduled to go in Aug. 3. (One side benefit is that
while the prop is gone we'll have time to put in our new side windows!...
