BPS Program on Daily winning out over pilots? by
Roger
I may have missed something as I caught only a little of the PBS
program due to the band opening and catching a bit from a station I
don't normally get. It looked like they were making Daily out to be
the environmentally friendly hero winning out over the pilots and
turning the airport into the...

Flight planning software the accounts for winds ? by
Mike Granby
FlightStar will do wind-aware routing and you can then look at the
various atltitude options for time, cost and fuel burn. It's not 100%
automatic, but it works great for my needs.

Marine antenna by

Can we cut a wire VHF-Air antenna that we already own to work with a
marine band (higher than VHF-Air) handheld?
Yes, but given its proximity to the ground, it's impossible to really
tune it correctly. (Hang the aircraft 8 ft up from a crane...

Anyone every use VistaNav? by
Dico
Hello,
Has anyone ever used the VistaNav setup? (www.vistanav.com) looks
like it is a pretty slick looking system and while not certified, it
seems more robust than many systems out there. Any review for this
product or info on similar products?
Thanks,

Washing a fiberglass airplane by
City Dweller
Hi all,
After a year of heavy use, including multiple applications of that nasty
orange deicing fluid, my Diamond Start is dirty is hell. Technically it is
not even white anymore. I want to give it a wash for the first time, but I
want to do it properly.
Our airport has a wash station with water...

I'm close to HEF YJO, I think those are correct IDs Manassas &
Leesburg. How would I go about finding hangers or tie-down spaces at
these two airports? What are the prices in this area (NOVA)?
Thanks to all who replies in advance.

2 HSI's with 1 gyro/fluxgate? by
Dico
Hello,
Our panel has a King HSI in it aswell as a 2nd ILS/GS indicator. If we
put in a 2nd HSI or EHSI, can they both run off one gyro/fluxgate? Or
do we need a gyro/fluxgate for each?

I started this thread on rec.aviation.products, but I'm also interested

Monroy ATD-300 or a ProxAlert R5? If so, where did you mount the
antenna and how well does it...

Maintenance/Hangar Costs by
aml
I am wondering if somebody out there can give me some real world numbers
on how much their maintenance costs are for a Cessna 340 and 414. I
don't care if it has the RAM conversion or not. A good friend of mine is
starting a charter company and wants to have numbers to put in the
business plan.
I...

Losing an old friend by
cjcampbell
Some of you may remember my first airplane, N9636B. It was a 172RG and
I had many hours in it. I frequently talked here about my experiences
with it.
I was curious as to what it was doing now and did a search on the
plane. To my shock, I learned that it crashed near Catalina Island on
September 5,...

82UL Fuel by
floater
82UL was developed several years ago, to be easily produced from
automotive fuel. Instead of being produce by only one or two
manufacturers as 100LL is, 82UL could be made by any oil company. This
should make it cheaper to produce. 82UL is NOT a replacement for 100LL.
It is my understanding that...

WTB:135 Ticket by

I am in the market for a 135 operation. I am finding out that going
through the FAA would take about a year and I don't have the time to
wait that long. If anybody has one for sale or knows someone that is
thinking about selling it, let me know.
Thanks
