pushrod tube leak by Dick[_1_]
Is there any method of sealing an engine-side leaking pushrod tube without removing the rocker and loosing the head? Was thinking something like replacing an axle boot on a front wheel drive car with those split and bolted types...

Collins Pro Line vs Garmin G1000 by Charles Talleyrand
I notice that the Citation CJ1s have Collins Pro Line and the Citation Mustangs have Garmin 1000s. Does the Pro Line have any significant advantages over the Garmin 1000? Which might be easier for the single pilot to learn? -Just Curious -Charles Talleyrand

Advice on prop aircraft by marques.jpf
Hi all, I'm new here, but i'll go straight to the point that made me register :) In the near future, i'm going to become part of a business that requires me to travel a lot in some countries in Africa, specially Mozambique. Due to the nature of many of those places and huge distances to travel,...

Replacement Cabin Speaker for Cessna? by John Clonts
Anybody know where to get a replacement cabin speaker other than Cessna? They want $110 for it! This is for a Cessna 210M. The speaker has 4 terminals. Two of them are wired to ground. One of the others is from the audio output, and the other is from the stall and landing gear horn...

All this Barron Thomas stuff by xyzzy
You do have to give it to Thomas for coming on here and debating this stuff. Of course in some ways he is blind to how he is perceived, as is everyone probably. His response, which is basically, "if you haven't bought from me you have no standing to evaluate me" shows that he does not see the...

Speedbrakes for a Bonanza: Opinions? by Peter R.
With my Bonanza about to roll out of maintenance with its new (overhauled) engine, I have been considering ways to preserve that investment. Recently, I came across an article discussing speedbrakes and was wondering if anyone here has experience with speedbrakes in a small aircraft. I see the...

Winterizing The Hangar by Jay Honeck
As some of you know, our hangar building was rammed by a semi-truck this past August, during the repaving of our taxiway. Fairly extensive damage was done to one corner of the building, but we were able to keep the plane inside, thanks to the guy only hitting our "kitchen" area. (No beer was...

Depression after Washing by Charles Talleyrand
My kid and I just washed the plane. Even after washing it, there are still chips of paint missing, a bit of rust, a drip-stain of fuel, and so on. The panel looks like it has been modified every once in a while since 1966. My plane is relatively nice compared to the other ones on the field, but...

Mixture control bottoms-out against the firewall? by Mark Hansen
I have a maintenance question. I read somewhere that the mixture control should not bottom-out against the firewall when full rich, as the pilot would not be able to tell if the full-rich position was achieved, or if the knob just hit the firewall stop. However, I'm wondering if this is just a...

Narrowing it down... Comanche? by Douglas Paterson
Hello, Folks: You may remember my posting of 3 Jan, titled "Resource for choosing a plane?" . I got quite a bit of help & pointers from this group (along with a few requisite wise-ass remarks!), for which I'm very grateful. Since then, I've done a bit of homework. I've bought & read Clarke's...

Value of a knot by Dude
I got an idea from a recent thread. I would like to know what you guys would spend to go a little faster. This would seem to be interesting information, and a fun topic. Please note the present speed of your plane, because 5 knots means a lot more at 100 than 200. Personally, It seems to me that...

2 Attachment(s) Uh-oh: CBS News to air anti-GA hit piece on Wed. 1/14 by Maule Driver
I saw it too. I'm hoping that it is a more level headed report than the teasing trailer suggests. Oh, maybe I'll just not watch. "David H" wrote in message ... I just saw a "teaser" piece during the CBS Evening News promoting their ...

Anyone ever done business with Beegles in Greeley Colo? We're talking radome, RADAR, both wings (w/boots), right engine, tail feathers, landing gear; The spar carry-through and pressure vessel are unknowns. That's a long way from San Marcos, Texas. The insurance guy sure has a thing for...

MBNA Aircraft Financing by att news group
I wanted to relate an interesting story. I purchased a small single engine Piper in January of this year through my business. At the time I had extra cash in the business, so rather than finance it, I decided just to use the cash and then perhaps put the financing in place later. Well the later...

Our Seneca has a GEM 1200 - it was installed during an avionics upgrade about 2 years ago. Up until now it has worked fine BUT ..... I'm hoping someone out there has fixed a similar problem or has some insight (no pun intended -:) into what the problem might be. Anyway, the GEM has an...
